I'm ashamed! I just noticed that the last one is from Withering Tights. Either way, it made me laugh!

Omg this series saved my life years ago.My bff and I started talking like her all the time. Sooo embarrassing.

In retrospect I think she'd make a great addition to ONTD. I also think some curlies may or may not be over there, too. I will not speculate for it may reveal my less than wholesome innanet activiteh.

I've just lurked ONTD, never posted. I was part of an ONTD comm, but I grew to despise it and left.
If you're talking about sleepyyellowbirdmeko, everyone knows that one.

Oh No They Didn't. It's a livejournal pop culture/celebrity gossip blog with fairly vicious, snarky members. It's a bit tamer now than it used to be, but it's definitely got a lot of bite.

I know I've said it before but it bares/bears (which ever's right) repeating:

I love it when people try to pronounce Chinquapin. Every single time we are training young or non local part timer I ask them to give out a call that contains Chinquapin in the address.

Chin-quan-p-in? Chi-n-q-apin?

I sit back and laugh. Then the phones ring and several people giving the newbie hell ensues. It's one of our few joys in life.

I'd pronounce it 'cheen-qua-peen' but because I'm reading it as a spanish word.

How is it pronounced?

It's pronounced just like the alternative spelling for a chinkapin oak tree.

Chink-a(h)-pin.

* or listen to the way Clairee Belcher says it in Steel Magnolia's. that's exactly the way it is said here, and said quickly

It's a doozie for people who have never seen it, and also because of the alternatives.

We have several of those. 75% of the roads or locations in my area have Cherokee names and they are pronounced in no way remotely close to the spellings. That and some places have a different local variation. It can be fun.
