The boy who killed my friend pleaded guilty today. No more court battles.
I can't even hate him anymore. I feel queasy when I think about his life, and how irrevocably he ruined it.
And yet, I wish more than anything that my friend was still alive, and his parents freed from their morass of pain and grief.
If the media descends on their house again after the verdict, I will likely go bonkers. I'm trying to save my first arrest for a messy dog rescue, but I may not succeed.
The public message here is that we're "one heartbeat", when in fact, many of us are a f-ing mess. I go to gatherings at my friends' house (Russell King's parents) and I have to leave suddenly so I don't upset everyone by yelling, "It's not okay! It's not okay! It will never be okay!" And I sit in the car with his mother when she cries and I rage inside.
Sometimes a deal with the devil doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

Claudine, I am glad he plead out. Hopefully no appeals. You are in my thoughts. It is hard to lose a loved one, but in a brutal manner adds more layers of pain and anguish.

claudine, I'm sorry you're still hurting. I was thinking today that it must be coming up on a year since it happened? : (

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Thanks, friends.
Tomorrow is the anniversary.
I'm sorry to bring everyone down.
I miss feeling angry. Now I'm just so g-d sad.
They're all just kids: and now they're either dead, ruined, or crippled for life.
I'm in a dark place. I wish I could box up my bad feelings and leave them outside for the night. There's a nice healing moon; maybe that would help.

I do many myself. I love laughing hysterically, snorting, and then laughing until I cry because I snorted. It never gets old.
I have fallen off of couches too (((((Claudine))))). My friend threatened to pur safety rails on his couch. I've managed to avoid peeing myself, so far.
I am glad he pled guilty, Claudine. I hope that everyone can start to heal (even a little) soon.
Mmmmm. I love cinnamon & sugar toast. I keep a shaker full of C&S for that purpose alone. Butter, shake, and broil. Yum.

Imma sound terrible but my roommate is having her cat's claws removed tomorrow and she can't have food until after the surgery so my roommate took the bowl away.
Now she's *****ing and moaning and yelling at my bedroom door like I'm gonna help her. She's straight seething and I'm just cackling. A witch cackle, if you will.
You know I don't like you girl. Stay mad. Had you behaved and not tried to claw up errythang and errybody your mommy wouldn't have to cut off your hands.
Also I've had this ridic country song stuck in my head for the past few days and I know I should be embarrassed but every time it comes up on my Pandora I'm like

Poor kitty could just have plastic caps put on at the vet instead of losing knuckles.
But, yeah, they don't like the food removal.

This thing freaks out when the bowl is less than half full.
She freaks out over everything and she still hasn't learned that I'm not the one to come to.
I'm a cold b*tch.
Also she's figured out how to open doors, cabinets, and whatever. She gets into the cabinets with our pots and pans and ugh. I don't want her nasty behind all over my cookware.
And cabinets with cleaners and stuff. Which can be dangerous for her, I guess.

Ahh she threw a tantrum, knocked over stuff in the cabinets, and spilled my Comet.
RM locked her in the bathroom. Don't worry that's where her water and litter box is. Disgusting, I know.
I can still hear her. We have jobs sis. We don't need this. Ugh.
Someone remind me of this if I ever consider living with an animal again.

I die every time I look at my 8th grade year book. The 'When We Grow Up' section is golden. I was voted most likely to be a stand up comedian during the day and a mud wrestler by night.
Hmmm, close enough.

The urge for a mini road trip to photograph older houses has hit. We only have a handful of smaller, standard, farm houses in my town. That was as fancy as it got when the area was settled and townships were established. The rest were small log cabins or shacks. I will have to ride to other counties, and I wish I could remember exactly which back road the creepiest old house in the world is on. I have wanted a picture of it for eons. It screams Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but thats just due to the style and ran down condition, I hope. If I can remember that, I will have the day mapped out! Woot.
I'm entirely too bored, and in the mood to make lists.

((claudine)) I'm sorry you're still hurting. Losing a loved one is bad enough, when you add an act of senseless violence on top of it...I can't imagine.
I was going to post this video, it brought tears to my eyes. I hope it brings you some comfort knowing that not all kids are out to inflict pain on each other, but rather this young man chose to bring joy to another young man and his family for at least one moment.
