Today has started completely opposite from yesterday. Yesterday, both kids woke up whiny and grumpy; today is all smiles and sunshine. It's because it's Friday, I'm sure!

My poor grandmother

Last week she was pulled aside by the director of the Senior Center and asked not to attend the weekly canasta game anymore since all the other women who go complained that she is too annoying and ruining their good time.

She told me that she introduced to them a new version of the game a few months ago that they all like and play quite often, so when she sees someone make a mistake, she points it out. One woman in particular takes personal offense at this and gets haughty while all the other ladies take it in stride. My grandmother feels this woman is the instigator of her banning.

She's 93 and terribly lonely and they took away her one weekly social activity

And then, the director had the gall to ask her if she'd like to volunteer on Wednesdays instead! I wanna this dude!

Ooh, I always meant to take one of those classes. I want to learn smocking, and I've forgotten how to do zippers and buttons. What's the focus of your class? And why did they move from Eastgate, disappear for a few years, and then reopen at Golden Gate?

@ L.A.: my male stylist is so stodgy that I'd fall out of my chair if he showed up with rhinestones on his jeans. I've never even seen him in jeans, in fact.

Gives a great cut, though. And I've just about got my impression of his voice down.

That is horrible and depressing, Rubber Biscuit. They had to go tell on her? I would have thought the man in charge could have mediated a bit instead of banning an old woman. This makes me sad and angry.

Why would the director tell your grandmother that, RB? He could have just tactfully explained that some people don't lie to be corrected and requested that she not do that, instead of banning the poor woman. Jerk.

ETA: I keep thinking about it and getting sadder and sadder for your grandmother. I want to punch that director in the balls.

I bought a new machine and the Viking store offers one free class. It's a basic class about how to use your machine, how to hem jeans, buttonholes and zippers. I'm also going to pin 2 projects and get some feedback. You can pretend like we bought the machine together and crash, LOL
That's so incredibly rude, RB. I can't believe he actually banned her just based on probably one woman's complaints.

I really wish my aunt (her daughter) would do it. She's an ass kicker but she's an accountant and nothing will get her away from her desk this time of year.
