It's Friday. My boss is out of town. I'm watching Elementary. And drinking rum n coke. Not really any different than when my boss is here, but I'm trying to make it seem special.

I think I may be allergic to this dove deodorant. I ran out of lafes and haven't make the time to stop by whole foods. I need to switch back ASAP, the only times my under arms haven't gotten itchy like this was back when I shaved (allergic to nickel).

I can't take the name Cumberbatch. It makes me want to gouge my own eyes out. I always picture a cummerbund.

I am so sick of cold weather. Really really really sick of it.

I had to email a newspaper reporter about an article. I didn't curse or anything. He wrote back and was reasonable. So it was nice to be able to rant.

I'm a big time cryer. But I don't think non-criers are hard. I actually think they are lucky.

Let's close the "how was your first time?" thread, cuz, you know, that is as controversial as it has gotten on this forum... !!?

I'm so nervous. I should be finding out a really important college decision today...sometime "after five." They won't even give a definite time of when the decision willbe online!! how am I supposed to wait four+ hours in this suspense??? I'M SO NERVOUS. I couldn't concentrate on the way home and nearly ran a red light. I just want to KNOW.

I don't understand why it was closed. We have discussed this topic many times here.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised about that thread closing, too. I feel like there have been a lot of threads on that topic before...

And now I have that Salt n' Pepa song stuck in my head. Mostly the Pitch Perfect version...

Facebook does too. And so do I when I lay out a document, which I do many times a day.

Like it or not, double spacers, single spacing is the new standard.
Ah, but one of the many perks of getting older is that we can just put on our old lady cranky-pants and ignore those new standards.
People are very attached to their double spaces. I have no idea why.

This cranky old lady likes to stay current.

I don't remember learning the need for a double spacing. I'm sure Miss Campbell, my third grade teacher, would have required it, and I'm no spring chicken. Come to think of it, neither did Mrs. Bevington, my high school latin and literature teacher. (Unrelated: she wore preppy patterned cotton turtlenecks.)

They were sticklers.

Boss: the other computer isn't connecting either.

Me: is it because we're all trying to connect at the same time?

Tech: nah. That wouldn't do it.

Boss walks away

Me (sotto voce): is it because we're all trying to use Dells?

Tech: yeah.

Hahahaha goodnight moon

my male roommates room stinks.

It's not a nasty ass booty hole stank turd smell. But it's not a smell I want to smell. I don't know what this smell is, I can't explain. Mothballs that went foul?

It smells like poison, or like bug spray used to mutated super bugs so it smells odd. Rotten ballsack? I don't know what the eff this smell is.

I can't explain but it's seeping into my room because he has his door open. I want to say Please shut your door because you smell.

So I got the job but it's 12 hour shifts at a hospital and I can't really juggle that with school I mean where would I find the time to do 2 (because you have to work at least twice a week) 12 hour shifts with school??
Saturday and Sunday? Omg I'd be dead by the time I graduate.

I'm hoping I can somehow not start until the end of april because I can't right now. No. I will fail. I know I will.

I also can't start until I have my SS card/birth certificate and a check for direct deposit, I have none of that I don't even own checks.

I have none because my parents have them and I wouldn't be able to get them (mailed to me) until like monday and the first training sessions start tuesday.

My kids were just picked up by their dad, and my man is at school tonight.

I'm doing the 'I have the house to myself and I ordered chinese food' dance.

I just love the 5 o'clock rush, especially on Friday. You can have 10 phone calls all day long but at 5, it comes alive. At least 20 people wait until 10 after and call us to have a social worker paged, rather than calling DSS during business hours. And then they get all mad because you can't connect them with THEIR case worker. Nobody is talking to you about food stamps at 5:10 pm. That is for emergency protective service cases only.

Same with the Sheriff's Dept and Police Dept and all have questions best answered by admin during business hours or are requesting to speak with staff that leaves at 5 rather than available road officers.

Oh so sorry.
