Sooo I just talked to my sister. She hasn't started! Y'all our nicknames "ovary buddy" will lose its double meaning if her uterus doesn't get it together.

Goddesses Carol and Michionne please give my sister her monthly shame. Amen.

I like boot cut, but then again I'm 5'11" with a 35" inseam. There isn't a pair of jeans in the world that could make my legs look short

I need some wide leg or boot cut when I wear flats. My feet are huge, and skinny jeans make me look like I'm walking around on flippers unless I put on heels.

I'm wearing boot cuts right now and I'm 5'2. But, try as I might, I just cannot give a isht about how I look.

I want to, I really do, but when it comes right down to it I'm just like, "Is this comfortable? Great."

Walking through Urban Outfitters makes me feel old.
______

Overheard today, "what is duck confit (pronounced con-fit, like fitness)? Eww that sounds greasy"

Okay, honestly I've not ever had confit, but I sooo want to try it. Maybe I just watch the food network too much.
______

I need a nap.

Duck confit is delish. I've had it once at this brunch place in Wicker Park. Definitely worth a try.

Where does one find "barely bootcut"?

I look too thick-legged in straight leg or pegged jeans.

Yeah. You heard right. Chinese food. From the local bowling alley. The broccoli beef was definitely prepared by a team of Hispanics. It was written all over the tray of food.

And the sweet and sour was a strange shade of pink.

Strange.

But to make up for all of THAT, there was chocolate satin pie from Marie Callendars. Which I LOVE. oreo cookie crust, chocolate pie, and whipped cream with cocoa powder on top.

Mmmmmmmm........... yummy.

But seriously. He is the BOSS. Rich enough to find a better Chinese restaurant. Why did we get bowling alley food??

those dang rich people, they always be so cheap.

So I'm going to this first training of my job at this hospital but I have to take a test on medical terms, I started studying some sunday but I'm not prepared at all. grrr I've had like 3 tests today and one more thursday! Like really, and you want me to take a test for a job? Bye.

I hope this doesn't hinder my hiring, I mean I'm already hired but I hope this doesn't get me fired lol.

Not trying to be a debbie downer but ever since my Grandma passed I can't tell if I'm depressed, exhausted or lazy.

My eating habits and exercise routine was heading off the rails before she passed so I could just be getting lazy and need a swift kick in the behind.

Added to that, I can't seem to sit still since she passed, not in a "I need to run!!!!" kinda way...more of an anxious "get me out of this house" kinda way..I've spent hours just driving around aimlessly.

Also, between the wake and the funeral and then everyday since then my Mom as been calling me sometimes drunk, sometimes not, but always upset and I'm trying to be patient with her but it's hard. Her main problem is her brother is being a pill but there's other stuff too, and she's been Grams' caretaker for 10years..she didn't just lose her Mom she lost her job in a sense. Trying to talk her of the ledge is emotionally draining, then I feel guilty for feeling that way. I know I haven't properly grieved because I've been trying to be strong and supportive for her.

Maybe I just need a pint of ice cream, get my own feelings over and done with and call it a day...start fresh tomorrow.

Oh, Target...

My original plan: Go to Lowe's and buy some pavers.

Turned into: Stop by Target and see if they have the quilt I want since I have $10 off.

Then turned into: Stop by Starbucks on the way out because I can get a free tall macchiato.

As I pulled into Target I was dead set on ONLY looking to see if they had the quilt and if not I figured I could actually pull a Rou and walk out of Target without buying anything! It happened as soon as I walked in the door, I saw the jewelry and rememberd I saw pretty earrings on a blog the other day she got there. So I had to browse that and of course found two pair I like. Since it's right around the corner from lingerie I figured what the hell, let me look at bras and oh my freakin' WORD I found a bra at Target that fit. WTF! This goes against everything I've ever believed, how did that happen.

Got sidetracked in the shoe section, but thankfully didn't find anything. Finally made it over to the bedding and YES, they have the quilt in the right size and the only one left. Good mercy get me the hell outta here.

Side question: Do y'all actually test out nail polish on your nails before buying it? I was buying tweezers and there was a lady testing nail polish on her nails. I'm not sure why, but it kinda grossed me out. What if she's got some funky nail fungus and now she's put it in that bottle? Is that even possible??

Ugh. I'm pissed and upset and sad and scared and I have no one to talk about it with and there's no point in getting too worked up about it yet in case it doesn't go through so I just walk around with the thought in the back of my head and anxiety in my stomach.

Externally I can put up a good front because its progress, but internally I'm like, hello? I'm too emotional for this right now.

Why do things happen at inopportune times!
