Say It. I Dare You.

The car thread just made me think of the Christine-mobile my parents once purchased. It was a late 80's or early 90's Plymouth Acclaim. The first year that vehicle was made. They had it for a few years and on the very same day they mailed off the last payment, it started falling apart. The door handle and window cranks fell off, and the speedometer & tachometer started running backwards. My dad had that fixed and a few weeks later he came home for lunch, parked it in the drive, and 15-20 min later was startled by someone beating on the door. He opened it to find the fire department. The car had suddenly burst into flames. WTF? Needless to say that was the only Plymouth they purchased.

There are many, many more reports of the same nature, along with several additional problems, and I don't think they were never made aware of the recall.

Of course!!!! The day that I don't even TRY to make my hair look nice, it looks awesome.

And in about 40 minutes, it's going to be shoved under a hat, and into a bun. *sob*

last night was horrible, my boss yelled at me. Okay she talked meanly to me. Wah! I've never been talked meanly too.

Ugh, Oh well new day.

I think I had about 25 nervous breakdowns yesterday.

I need to escape.

anyone see this? Website that shows your tweets if you tweet about work.

Ah, the twitter-verse. I avoid it.

I wish my mom would hurry. I am ready to take her home from the mechanics, go to my house, and go to bed.

So many of my friends must think I dropped off the face of the earth soon after graduation, only to briefly surface to say I lost a family member and then slink back into the shadows. Do they even feel like my friends anymore? Is it just because I have nothing in my life that I still consider them a part of it?

Will I be able to get them back if I just message them out of the blue a few months from now?

Not now. I can't deal right now.

That's not a very accurate gauge of ones well being.

Slightly different scary topic

The building of Atomic Bombs, also known as the Manhattan Project, took place not too far from my area in 1942. Oak Ridge TN. People found eviction notices on their door asking them to be out of their town in 2-6 weeks, many were forced out without compensation, the area was acquired, and the factory was built. My Grandmother worked there, like many other women. Waste was dumped into creeks, and it was rumored that barrels of waste were hauled into my state & county, and other counties in the area, and buried. People would see the loaded trucks come in, and they would leave empty. I do not doubt it, and I have plenty of strange reasons not to.

Okay, I think I have decided. We just need to get out of here. It doesn't matter where we end up. It will be better than here. Someone will eventually want this place.

Speak of... I really want to read this book. My Grandmother died before I was born, of lung cancer, and I never got to speak to her about her experiences at Oak Ridge.

Points off for Maricel Presilla for the empanada chapter. You go through about a dozen or so empanadas, make brief mention of yuca used as dough, then proceed to include recipes for various Argentine and Chilean ones, but can't include one Dominican empanada in there?
Though I suppose better for me because when I finally sell them some day nobody will know how to make them!

Like I know we don't hear about it much, but I wonder how the radiation levels are at the plant in Japan that was destroyed with the tsunami.

I know they had people volunteer to clean up knowing that they'd probably die doing it. And the idea of that being so close to residents is super terrifying.

Idk if it weren't dangerous, I'd love to go to the Chernobyl site.

There's a horror movie called Chernobyl. Super creepy.

I would not want to go there.

That link had a YouTube video linked to it. That was pretty disturbing.
