2 things:

1. I rewarded myself with Caribou after the interview. You know, for remembering how to properly open a door. My friend went there the other day and afterwards was all "YOU MUST TRY THE CHERRY WHITE MOCHA!" So I did. The barista said she wasn't a huge fan of the cherry syrup that they use, and she'd be happy to remake it with raspberry if I didn't like it. Well, I didn't like it that much. It did taste like cough syrup. But I felt way too bad to ask her to remake it, so I kept it. Darn you, customer service job, for making me care too much about other CS employees!

2. My straight-leg jeans came in the mail today, and they're totes cute! Not sure if I'm imagining it, but I feel like they sort of balance out my thighs? Either way, I like them!

SCG I thought I would never wear or like straight leg jeans but I now own more of those than boot cut.

when will your favs?

I felt so bad for the owner at the pizza shop last night. The guy in front of me was talking about how his last orde got messed up. He was not being mean about it at all. Just kind of joking 'do i have check my order tonight?' kind of stuff. The owner told him nooo-it's fine. He leaves and I que up. He gives me my sub and pizza and I ask about my tossed salad. He looks over-he gave my tossed salad to that guy before me and his greek salad was still there. The look on his face. It made me sad. I know in the scheme of things no big deal but I could just tell he was so annoyed with himself.

Now that I'm over cupcakes, I think I shall turn my obsession to crepes

Yummy, yummy crepes

I don't want to start a thing, but honestly you guys--

Does anyone actually, truly, really, honestly, professionally use WordPerfect still?

Before I started working here I thought it was as relevant as Notepad.

We use it half and half here.

I sort of prefer it because you can see the codes. So when an attorney give me a document that is all f-ed up, I can easily fix it. Unlike Word. I have to be a damn computer genius to figure **** out sometimes.

Oh I totally get that! Except can you do track changes or redline on Word Perfect? Like the codes thing is super helpful, but my boss doesn't understand that and wants to see receipts on what I change when I fix a document (a la track changes on Word), but gives me documents in WordPerfect.

I usually just change it to a .docx file, fix it, show him, and change it back, but that seems like a lot I guess.

I do love Word. It's like my favorite program sometimes.

I'm back and forth. I have a definite love-hate relationship with Word.

And WordPerfect. And I've never tracked changes in WP. I'd probably hate it.

Then again, tracking changes in Word sucks sometimes too.

Ahh..... ignore me. I'm in a grumpy mood today.

In the hopes that it alleviates my grumps:

I got a bag of English muffins from a co-worker who gave a bunch away to co-workers because she went to Costco and had more than she could eat. I took it home.

Did you know that its inappropriate to give and/or receive food items from a co-worker?

Did you know that I must be fooling around because of it?

Oh yeah! And a Christmas gift of fake candles is also inappropriate.

And a jar of ollalieberry jam. Because I wanted to taste it. Its inappropriate to give me something I am interested in. Its inappropriate to just have it be a coincidence.

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm overcome by inappropriateness its amazing I'm still allowed to walk the streets.

No alcohol in supermarkets? Are you in the dark ages over there? Our supermarkets sell all types of booze. Some of them seem to have bigger booze sections than produce ones.

I also live in the land of the 24hour bar (who wants to drink at 8.37am?) and a place where treating alcohol related illnesses costs £8million a DAY.

My dentist scheduled me for two deep cleanings in which she'll numb me so that she can clean for real because I had ridiculous build-up and I was bleeding like a mofo. She said was too young and beautiful to have my teeth in such a state. And that my teeth look beautiful but it's no good if there's so much build-up. A life without dental insurance, y'all.
I'm kind of curious of how some co-workers would fare. People in my industry just do not go to the dentist due to being unable to afford it and outright neglect. But at least I floss whereas I know most of the cooks I worked with never did, so like if I'm bad, I wonder what state they're in.

We already are high on those, lol. You can't have a football town without tons of bars.
Local drink taxes are already pretty high. The money is supposed to fund transit, but it gets detoured elsewhere. Go figure.

One good thing is that state stores are pretty stringent about ID checking. I'm not sure how that would work out in the private sector. My home state was much more lax in ID checking on stuff and you can get beer in gas stations there.
