Say It. I Dare You.

I'll have to say it here because I really can't say it on Facebook or to my friends:

I really don't give a hoot about the hillsborough disaster.

We already are high on those, lol. You can't have a football town without tons of bars.
Local drink taxes are already pretty high. The money is supposed to fund transit, but it gets detoured elsewhere. Go figure.

One good thing is that state stores are pretty stringent about ID checking. I'm not sure how that would work out in the private sector. My home state was much more lax in ID checking on stuff and you can get beer in gas stations there.

juana, the average daily high temperature for Toronto in July is 27C/80F - rarely does it get lower than 23C/73F.

it's very humid there, too.

you'll be fine!

My Etsy shop has been open 3 weeks now and I've made about 260!!!

Of course the majority of that is you amazing guys on here - so not too many complete strangers are seeing the shop yet.

And of course - almost everything has been posted to America and hasn't arrived yet so I haven't actually had any feedback yet either.

But I'm pretty chuffed nonetheless!
I ate an entire avocado again. I can't stop! so yum

I have to do special exercises to make sure my jammed thumb doesn't get stiff and remain painful to bend.

Also, I find it highly ironic that though other people often comment on how dangerous it is for me to live with pit bulls, it was the poodle who accidentally chomped me when I was trying to stuff antibiotics down her gullet. (This statement seems to call for a hashtag but I just can't do it.)

Why do you keep asking if you can keep our kids for the summer? Where would you get such an idea? They wouldn't be able to go to their regular things, like swimming lessons and (for DS1) speech therapy. You don't have bedtimes, nap times, or meal times, and you don't put lotion on them and their eczema flares up. In the past, when they've visited you, they came back spoiled, undisciplined, eating fast food for every meal, and (in the younger days) forgetting how to be potty-trained. Also, you are a borderline hoarder and your house is a mess. The idea of you keeping them for the summer has absolutely no redeeming qualities. You don't ask DH's sisters to keep their kids for the summer, so why do you keep asking us?
So I just spent the last 2 days (well, really only like 29 hours) in Pittsburgh, and geez louise, it is hilly.

My dad grew up in the hills on the south side of the city (like, 1 block after you pass through the Liberty tubes) and the roads over there are like a roller coaster. Like, to the point where it kind of feels like your car could tip over backwards on some of the roads because the hill is so close to vertical.

It's funny, I went there every Christmas as a kid but I guess it didn't faze me as much then. Logically, I knew how hilly it was - my grandparents' house was like, 25 steps up from the road, and then there were another dozen steps up from their back door to their postage stamp of a yard.

It just really struck me this time. Maybe because I haven't been there since I could drive, and I was paying more attention.

Speaking of crepes (no, not creeps, iPhone), I really want lefse. I mean really, a crepe made with potatoes, butter, heavy cream, and just enough flour --- what's not to love! I'm thinking more along the savory direction than the butter and cinnamon sugar filling route, though.

Sure but if people are going to become alcoholics they will. Alcohol consumption increased during prohibition. The reasons for drinking excessively need to be addressed rather than limiting access for those of us who drink responsibly.

I'm at the gym and someone just walked by with Redbull. Blegh. I want to puke.
