i am a HUGE fan of Hitchcock movies - but i have to admit that i've NEVER seen Psycho or The Birds and Torn Curtain is such a poorly done movie that even Paul Newman can't save it!

Rou, both those movies were life altering for me. To this day, I shower with the door closed if I am home alone because of Psycho. I break out in a cold sweat when I see several birds sitting on a wire. Hitchcock was a genius.

I find him so creepy in relation to his female characters.^

Is it Notorious in which Ingrid Bergman played a psychiatrist, and got nothing but insults throughout the film? Granted, it was a different age, but Hitchcock's sexism is so rampant there, it practically bleeds off the screen. I also hated the way Jimmy Stewart's character in Vertigo kept insisting that her appearance couldn't possibly matter to Kim Novak. To me that argument positively reeks of "woman as object." And yet now I've read that it was his wife who often managed his films, which is even worse in regards to the sexism and self-hate.

I think the cinematography is wonderful, though.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Claudine, genius as far as cinematography. Personally, he was a tortured soul, self hating and misogynistic.

It is frighteningly easy to get a credit card.

Especially since our credit rating is nearly 800, we can get pretty much whatever card we want instantly upon filling out an online application.

I can see how easy it would be for a lot of people to end up with a lot of credit card debt.
I watched Life of Pi with my family last night. Omg. Way sadder than expected.

The whole movie, I was like:

And it will steal your innocence
But it will not steal your substance
But you are not alone in this"

Maybe I better not watch Life of Pi. I hate watching an emotional movie with Mr. Spring and I'm sitting over here with the lump in my throat trying not to cry because I don't want him thinking I'm soft.

Haha! It wasn't always sad so much as... Heart-wrenching? I dunno. They kept introducing "characters" and then abruptly tearing them away!
