For my fellow avocado lovers:

Ode to an Avocado

My lovely avocado,
So pebbly to the touch.
Id walk to Colorado
Even hobbling on a crutch.
Just to taste your creamy interior,
My breast to you Id clutch.
Other fruits are quite inferior,
But you, dear, I love so much!

I love avocado's, when used sparingly in any number of things. I'm not a fan of avocado overload (I can live without guacamole), but I still think about the chicken & avocado rolls I had in California. I need to make those. They were perfection.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

A true avocado lover would *never* use the word "sparingly" regarding avocado consumption. Just sayin'

As a kid I asked for a guacamole tree. Fifi! How could you say such a thing?!?!? There is a commercial about avocados that cracks me UP!

Subway Turkey and Bacon Avocado TV Commercial, 'Avocado Love' - YouTube

(Don't judge me. I LAUGH OUT LOUD at this commercial. Avo-car-do.... *shakingmyheadandlaughing*)

And guac... I mean avocado is so much better as a sandwich spread than mayo. Mmmmm...... I had a tree in my backyard growing up. There must have been a mate somewhere in the vicinity that died one year, because it was downhill from there. We got another one to help out, but it was too late.

Then I had an ex with a wonderful avo tree in her yard that gave a different kind of avo with a smooth green skin that was creamy and wonderful. So creamy and good. And the tree was BUSTING at the seams. We would spend the morning on the weekends getting them. She'd climb up on the roof and pass them down to me. Yummy yummy yummy. I miss that. [she isn't the last ex, the one before last.]

Does anyone get bizarre skin soreness? I occasionally get areas, usually on my arms, sometimes my legs, where my skin is tender. It's not red, doesn't itch, but is uncomfortable to touch. Today it is my right forearm. I don't even no how to discribe the feeling, it doesn't burn, doesn't hurt like a bruise, it just is uncomfortable to touch (or since it is my forearm, lay on the desk). I'm so weird. sigh

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.
At least I'm not alone in my weirdness.

Not that I'm happy you have it too, just glad I'm not crazy (in this instance anyway).

Hmmm.. I don't have fibro, at least that I know of. Interesting that the both of you do, and have this symptom. Maybe some research is in my future.

Guacamole gives me a bad stomach ache, every single time. I don't know why, but it does. I have never been able to eat it. Sliced or chopped avocado used in a dish, to brighten other flavors, does not bother me at all. I adore it. I just can't overload on it.

Guacamole!!! My fave food group!

My son called it "mackalodie" as a toddler/little kid. I loved hearing "Mommy more mackalodie pease".
