Rou, do you have your own electric saw for tree trimming? I bought one but the instructions are terrible.

I'm afraid I'll drop it on my foot.

I have an electric hedge trimmer, like thus-wise

ninja, i have a hedge trimmer like Ms T. i was going to use my jigsaw to shorten some shelving i have to fit a space in the kitchen - i am in desperate need of storage.

i prefer doing this stuff outside so i don't get sawdust all over the house.

I hate being fearful, but power tools with blades scare me. I'm determined to conquer it, though.

I wonder if there's a "Power Saws for Dummies" book?

i was like that, too, but i really needed to cut back those horrid shrubs out front of my house and the steps to the second back door that blocked most of my patio.

so i got over my fears and bought a reciprocating saw and jigsaw and now the front of my house looks good and i have space on the patio!

plus, the two steps left at the back are great for holding planters and my moroccan-style lanterns.

I think the biggest thing with power tools is being aware. Be conscious of your clothing, your fingers, any other appendages.

For example:
I use my hedge trimmer to cut down my decorative grasses (this is not mine):

I wear a heavy gloves, glasses/goggles and long sleeved shirt. I make sure my shirt is tucked in, and I don't have any loose clothing/jewelry that could get caught/blown into the blades. My hair is usually in a pony and/or under a hat. I oil the trimmer blades before I start. I try to make sure the cord doesn't present a tripping hazard for me. I turn the trimmer off when I am moving around the plants. As in I set my feet, turn it on, cut what I can, turn it off, move, set my feet, turn it on.. repeat.

Does any of that help?

I'm going to die of starvation and too many showers before I decrease off these bleeping steroids!!! Jeebus! I am taking 2 to 3 showers a day. I have never sweated this much in my life, but at least that is helping drop weight as opposed to packing it on in my ravenous state.

Thank you, TRBL. That does help. I will do the same.

Um.......this is kind of embarrassing, but the directions kind of don't make it clear how to turn it on.

Obviously the directions were written by a man.

claudine, have you looked up your particular saw on youtube?
^ Yep. That's me. They will find me years from now, and defrost me, and I will be rambling on about Paula Deen, nail polish, True Blood, and the dangers of prednisone.

Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.

I have already fussed enough, somewhere else, about my friends son tonight BUT I just have to say I am glad I do not have children. I swear the fruit of their loins are going drive me into an early grave. That's my pack, and I am protective over them, and their kids. Right now I want to cuss them all out. Any one of them with a kid between 14 and 17. They are all on my radar. And I am keeping my eye on the slow starters, with the youngest pups, but so far that's going beautifully.

How dare you have kids I love and worry about!!!!
