Lol!! I have been sick B-wavy, so haven't even turned my calendar over yet or maybe it's because my 50th is on the 15th?

Well, there you are! I'm so sorry you've been sick, juana! I was hoping you were away on vacation or something. I'm sending you lots of healing thoughts and (((hugs))). Feel better soon! And you'll be 50 on the 15th of this month? We'll all have to celebrate!

I'm wondering what the hell I was thinking when I decided getting up and getting an oil change first thing was a good idea. Apparently the six people ahead of me thought it was a good idea, too.

And, the man next to me in the waiting area is doing the noisy slurp gulp coffee drinking thing. I'm debating whether it's worth it to sit in the 90 degree heat outside to get away from him.

Eta, I'm now sandwiched between two of them, but since I've only had one cup of coffee my motivation to move is exceptionally low, and my hair may not make it if I go outside right now.
I'm wondering if I have ear plugs in my purse.

I have some but thankfully the cups were small (or the gulping slurping made it go fast) and the oil change place is amazingly fast! I was number seven and done in 30 minutes!

I'm so glad y'all mentioned earplugs - such genius! In almost every waiting room-type situation, there's always someone who wants to strike up a conversation or comment on whatever dreck is on the waiting room tv. I'm usually messing about on my phone or tablet, but that doesn't seem to deter them. Although if I always kept an extra pair of earphones in my purse, I could go ahead and plug them in and just pretend like I was listening to something. bwahahahaha!

Glad you made it out so quickly, PerriP

I pretend to be listening to stuff ALL. THE. TIME.

Constantly. Especially at my desk. I was laughing with the receptionist that if she sees the earphones in my ear, there is nothing going on. I'm just sitting.

i have completely had it with the problem co-worker.

her mother died unexpectedly last Saturday. she had been ill for a while and was in hospital for refusing to take her meds at her nursing home. a home she had refused to go to for years after suffering a stroke and being forced into a wheelchair.

i want to feel bad for co-worker, but she whined, moaned and complained about her mom so much; in some ways i think she is not going to have any life now that she does not have to dance attendance on her mother.

yesterday, i found out that she came into the office on Monday - on the Canada Day holiday. it seemed really strange to me, then something clicked in my head and i suggested to our financial admin that she check the phone records. she looked at the outgoing phone log on the phone on her desk, but it only records calls made on the main incoming line. problem co-worker uses the second line on that phone as her "desk number". check the computer records and there were a bunch of calls to Europe.

she also failed to leave an "out of office" message on her email, so people have been sending her things that are due today and should be done by me and one one of the managers...

*sigh*

i just don't get it...

You are going down the wrong road and making bad choices. I don't like the company you keep. At this rate, you are going to sink quickly.

Why don't any of you want better for yourselves?

That has to be an actionable offense, doesn't it? Start a file on her if you don't have one already. Ridiculously actions, as a one off, are something can be lived with, but a pattern of behaviour like this should be documented and action should be taken.

(says the person that suffered through 3 years of serious workplace abuse before being fired at the behest of her tormentor)

I can't watch movies made with hand-held cameras. They make me feel nauseated.

So much for "Troll Hunter."
