okay... this makes NO sense....

why would Greyhound have an advance fare to Toronto of $29 (one way), but one way to Hamilton - which is closer to Windsor than Toronto is $58.50?????

since it's a milk-run bus and stops in Hamilton on the way to Toronto, i should just buy the Toronto fare and get off in Hamilton...

Claudine... You can't just "Oh my God" squared, and run out without at least letting the caring curly people know you are alright.

I am so worried about my cat right now. Something is not right. She had the worst freak out/panic attack I have ever seen on the way to the vet yesterday. Her tongue was out, she was panting, and screaming. The screaming part is completely normal. She hates to travel, but this was something different. I have never seen her breathe so hard. I had the A/C blowing on her, it was cool in the car, I kept talking to her, etc. When I got in the vet she calmed down, but they didn't do things as normal. I normally go with her. They just took her down stairs and were down there for some time. Since then her tongue has been hanging out, she is drooling and licking her lips excessively, her eyes are extremely dilated, and she can't seem to take more than three bites of food without acting like something is wrong with her mouth and won't drink much water. I hated leaving her this morning. My mom checked on her for me twice, she had not moved, and had not changed. I left work a few hours early and came home. I don't know what happened. I don't know if she had an allergic reaction to the meds they gave her in office or if it was something else. I had to give her an anti inflammatory last night, but waited 7 hours after we got home to give it to her. No vets offices are open. I called one that is over an hour away and asked a few questions. They wanted me to bring her in, but i can not do that to her. Not after the was she reacted yesterday. She would not make it in the car for over an hour. I also can not afford them. They are much higher and what I paid yesterday took a large chunk out of my check. They told me to monitor her breathing. I am and I am squirting a cc of water in her mouth here and there to make sure she does not dehydrate. I will not be giving her another pain pill tonight. I read that cats with heart problems should not take it, and they told me she had a murmur (but did not elaborate on the severity), talked about heart failure, and handed me those pills. It can also cause kidney failure and internal bleeding. No thank you! I hope she starts feeling better soon. She's sleeping now. If something happens... God help that new girl in the vets office.

Oh fifi in so sorry, sending prayers your way. I don't know anything about cats so I have no advice to give, other than sending love your way.

And Claudine.....please let us know

Did they give her a shot in the mouth, or numb her somehow, Fifi? It almost sounds like when the dentist numbs you.

Maybe try giving her some wet food, and ice. Might be a little easier for her to take in if her mouth isn't feeling right.

Hope she feels better soon!

Eta - I didn't mean mix the ice and food!

Thank you Perri & CC. I appreciate it, very much. We could both use some T's & P's.

CC, I am not sure what they gave her or how they gave it to her. I tried to call today to find out, but no one picked up or returned my call after I left a msg. They are normally open until 12 on Saturdays. I would like to find out for more than one reason. I was also told it was safe to give her the anti inflammatory/pain pill the same day, but read that you shouldn't administer the med's to cats that had already taken specific types of medication. It's frustrating. I've kept very cold ice water in her bowl. She has only taken a few sips, and she will not eat more than a few bites of food. That is what worries me the most. I put some shredded turkey breast in front of her and she turned her head away. She was cleaning herself a bit ago, which is always a good sign, but I could see her mouth shaking when she opened it and she couldn't keep it open for long. Of course I've had to google all of her symptoms, and found a great deal to fear and worry about. Everything from allergic reaction/swelling to kidney failure to stroke to signs of death. I hope she is feeling better and acting more like herself tomorrow.

She's gone back to sleep now. Next time she wakes up she is getting another round of antibiotics and we are going to bed! I was up and down all night last night. She stayed in the living room and I laid awake, and kept checking on her, until 2 am. I woke up 3 more times between 2 and 5. It would be much easier if she slept in the bed with me tonight.

I'm sorry, curlies.

Sadie was hit by a car and we are trying to be okay.

I will check in as I can.

Hope everyone else is well. PerriP, I keep wondering if you're okay due to the trial.

Again, I hope everyone is okay. I don't mean to be selfish.

^ I will. She was uncomfortable last night and didn't want to move but tonight she is coming with me, like it or not.

((((((((Claudine))))))))), I am so, so sorry. You are not being selfish in the slightest. I hope Sadie is okay. T's & P's for both of you. Just take care of her and update when you can. We'll be here.

Thank you, CP. She seems to be a little better this morning. Still not herself, but she did take a few more bites of food and drank a little more water. That made me feel a little better. Maybe by dinner she will be ready to eat a little more.

I love it when I find a news show that is more open on social issues but will knock the hell out of both parties when it's deserved. I am so sick of the party wars. Adults acting like kids on a playground. Na na na boo boo, mine is better than yours! They're both fu**ing up, royally. We are talking about people after all. I no longer identify with my party of 20 years. I've never been able to widely identify with the republican alternative. I can say... Meh, Okay... On a couple things, but thats it. And I've come to loathe the terms "liberal" and "conservative". I guess it's time for a change

Claudine, I'm thinking of you and Sadie this morning.
