I do not blame you. That is a quack. A diabetic is 10 times better off with a nutritionist that puts them on a plan, closely monitors their blood sugar readings, and makes adjustments. They have to have so many calories before they take their meds or they bottom out. That's just simple math.

My dad couldn't exercise for many years, and was termed "morbidly obese". He had neuropathy and edema, horribly bad. He could hardly walk, but I know 500 calories a day paired with humalog and novalog would have done him in, in a quick minute.

Perri, I also nicknamed that The Devil Wears Prada Diet.

"I wait until I feel like I'm about to pass out, and eat a cube of cheese".

all the preparations for the official opening of the courts in the new courthouse are ready. and the communications branch calls my office this afternoon and said "who wrote these documents for us? the quality is amazing!"

when i said that it was me, they were effusive in their praise. this is how it makes me feel:

Yes! They never monitored any food journals, just noticed her sugar was up and suggested that she lose weight, no exercise required, etc. I'm thinking that is why she liked him. I'm still arguing with her re all of her convenience food (those 100 calorie packs, all carbs, processed) that she uses as her "go to". To be fair, she's doing much better in the past couple of months than the last several years. She's also moved to Texas and changed doctors

Yay, Rou!!! It's always good to have your hard work acknowledge.

Perri, I am glad she moved away and changed doctors, and is doing better since. Getting away from the quack has to help!

A bit of randomness

I love the cafe conversation between Brad Pitt, George C, Matt Damon's characters, in Oceans Twelve, when they arrive in Amsterdam to meet with a potential "business associate". It's very Twin Peaks.

Business? Business.

BP: A doctor who specializes in skin disorders will dream he's fallen asleep in front of the television, and then later wake up in front of the television, and not remember his dream.

(Hmmm, hmmm, yes. Would you agree?)

GC: If all the animals along the equator were capable of flattery, then Thanksgiving and Halloween would fall on the same date.

(Ah, yes)

PBA: When I was 4 years old I watched my mother kill a spider with a tea cozy. Years later I realized it was not a spider. It was my Uncle Harold.

(Radio silence and all look to Matt)

MD: Oh let the sun beat down upon my face
Stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler in both time and space
To be where I have been

BP:Cashmere? That's your idea of making a contribution?
MD: I don't even know what's going on. What did I say in there?
BP: You called his niece a whore
GC: A very cheap one
BP: She's 7, and currently confined to bed with a wicked case of
GC: No. Don't tell him that.

Bahaha.

You can run but you cannot hide! A simple Google search ratted you out. Expect a knock at your door soon.

True to form, I got contact dermatitis on both wrists from wearing cheap bracelets from the thrift store.

It's the magpie in me. (Also the cheapskate.)

well... i don't know if any of you on the other side of Lake Erie got any of that mess last night, i do know that peeps in Michigan sure did, but we got hit by a MASSIVE thunderstorm last night that went on for HOURS!

it started about 7:30 and kept going until close to 10:00 pm and by the time it was over, they had recorded close to 5,000 lightning strikes here in the city!

5,000!!!!!

it was insane! the sky just kept lighting up, over and over and over again! i was amazed that we didn't lose power downtown, but lots of people in the city did.

the earlier, short, storm that blew through had funnel clouds touching reported all over the city, too.

So toe shortening exists. It's where they remove some of the bone so you can fit in tighter shoes. Some are going as far as removing the pinky toe so they can wear stilettos better.

That's crazy.

We got the severe weather alerts over our phones and elsewhere. They predicted 70mph winds, heavy rain, lightening, golfball sized hail, etc., headed southeast right into my neuighborhood. They urged us to take cover immediately at 6pm until 10:30pm. We didn't get a drop until this morning. So weird how they could be that off the mark.
