Someday, I'd like to have a modem that works the way they say it's supposed to. You know one that starts up automatically after an outage without hitting the reset button, unplugging it for 20 minutes, restarting your computers and if you're really unlucky having to call tech support to be treated like an idiot.

^ Piggy, Piggy, Piggy!

I am disappointed. I finally went by the new sandwich shop in town to get the really good Cuban I had heard all about and it was mediocre at best. At this point it's the best one in town, but that doesn't say much. The bread is all wrong.

I am so happy that his week is calm. Last week was madness!!!! BF ended up in the hospital for 3 days. (he's ok now. The wedding is over. We spent a good part of the evening caring for two drunk bridesmaids who passed out. Whew. (but the blackmail pictures are hilarious)

I just took pics of my friend's newborn. I can't wait to edit them!!

.............

doing a little dance!!!! I got it! I got it!!! Last night I received an email welcoming me to the Clevealand Flea. It's more of a curated handmade market. The ones in Cleveland are all very incessious. So getting into one means I will have access to more!! woohoo!!!

I got my first order and party booked from the direct sales company I joined!!!!!

I made a prototype for a new product I'm making for my cousin's bowtie business. He loves it!!!

I treated myself and purchased my first real photography backdrop. I can't wait until it gets here.

I just got a call about creating something for a fundraising event in November

this is a good week. now if only I could catch up with my orders. I am so behind!!!

Congratulations Scrills and Ziggy! Good news

I'm still ready to throw something. I hate how nosey people can be. Yes, typically we do page 2 departments to that type of call but we didn't this time for a reason, not because we are being slack. When a person on one of the two departments calls and asks you to just page one, you do. He knows what they needs in that situation and is already on scene. Scanner Land. No clue, but think they know it all.

I'm glad I am not in Montana! It's snowing in some places there. Yuck. I'm already hearing the, "if the old wives tales about thick corn husks meaning a bad winter are true, we're in for it" blah blah. I heard the same thing last year, and the year before, but didn't hear it during our bad winters. You can't predict that far in advance here. The forecaster can't predict the day of 90% of the time.

I just read that people are pushing for a ban on baby walkers because 34 children have died in the past 40 years. That's not a lot. I know that sounds b**chy. I say the same about the 105 people who die from chicken pox each year. When you look at population, it's nothing, and I would be more likely to think that a great deal of the 105 have an underlying condition. Now, back to it... 14,000 children end up in the ER each year from baby walker accidents and 95% of those are a result from falling down stairs. Well no f'n wonder!!! *Apparently the other 5% of injuries are a result of pinched fingers, bumped heads, child trying to climb out and falling, child standing on the walker and touching hot coffee... basically anything that could happen with any object at any moment* Now they are saying the few months a child uses a baby walker delays motor skills, damages posture, and causes neurological damage :-/ Okay. Unless a parent leaves their child in it 24-7, I would think the chances are not that great.

Letting them fall down the stairs might cause all three of those, in no time.

I forgot to mention, with no feelings or emotions because I am just talking statistics, 3 million walkers are sold in the US every year. So that's 14,000 children injured out of 3 million a year, the over whelming majority rolled down a flight or more of stairs, and in the past 40 years only 34 have died.

It seems like you'd have a better chance of getting killed in a plane crash.

Now with some snark- It seems like a ban on parents would be more reasonable.

ETA to this... Canada banned them in 2004, and yes, you honestly do stand a higher chance of getting killed in a plane crash. There really is a ban on logic.

I really can't believe the way some people behave at ad agencies.

An HR department would lop off their heads.

So the doc has been talking "at" our last patient of the day for 30 minutes now. He's talking about old television shows he likes. It's obvious that the patient isn't interested. I should have left work by now, but it will be another 1/2 hour or more. I want to go into the room and slap him and tell him to shut up.

You're going to have to forgive me because I am mind blown at the moment. I'm not trying to insult my beloved Canadian friends Just saying...

You can be fined up to $100,000 or receive jail time for letting your child use a baby walker in Canada. OMFG! The American Pediatrics Association has been trying to ban them since 1995. Yes, some parents believe that it teaches your child to walk faster/better. There is no evidence to disprove or prove this. Some just use it for exercise, leg movement, entertainment cause babies love it, so on and so forth. With the claims of it causing development problems (studies change every 15 years), I wondered how soon people were putting their babies in these things. I found some asking if they could start their child at 2 or 3 months. REJECT!! Again, no f'n wonder! Many are leaving them in too long while they use it as a baby sitter, and while I know accidents happen, I am sure many are not paying attention. You should know that your baby should be well into sitting up by themselves, pulling up, standing up, before you use it. If you don't want to use one, fine, but a ban is pretty extreme.

Show me a fine for getting on a plane!!!

Last ETA: I was curious so I researched how many children simply fall down the stairs while simply walking. Over 100,000 children under 5 are rushed to the ER every year for falling down the stairs. That's one child every 6 minutes. Only 2.7 % are hospitalized and the majority of those were being held by an adult. That increases the injury risk. I have not found a separate total on children but 1,000 people die from falling down the stairs each hear. Hmmm. Ban stairs, ban legs, ban parents. You can't stop every bump or bruise, and you shouldn't punish for it either.

Story of my life. Currently, they keep resetting the software. The result is the guide won't load correctly so I miss shows too dvr. It also blanks out anything on the dvr set as "shows to record" that isn't currently on (like off season shows)
I have to check it regularly.

But thanks for this post, you reminded me I need to call them and cancel some channels

I sometimes love ConEd. It takes me to a whole new level of discovery. I didn't think anything could ever top my b**ching when I learned about shark attacks. (I live no where near the ocean. If jaws ends up in the lake or creek, you're on your own. Drowning would have been more productive, just saying.) but that took all the cake.

*Does anyone else see this major Puritanical attitude everywhere they look? I'm talking Salem Witch Trial, in a frenzy, type attitude. They were pulling triggers (one could say) and feeding off fears, non stop.

*I'm not alone Heightened Emotional Reactivity. Television media is the worst to fake this state because they are following interwebs trend. And there are millions of different strict personal moral codes some people expect others to follow rather than a common code.

Ah. It felt good to not get up at 5am.
