My felt fox ears arrived!

How will I ever wait until Halloween to wear them out in public?

Foxy Lady!

Well, I am happy to see that the percentages on the 10 jobs that are hardest to fill in America, 2013 edition, have dropped from 57 (or so) % to 30 some %. It's still the same jobs that were on the 2012 list. Plumbing, electricians, etc.

Let me add nurses and some other service jobs. I was starting to get worried. Everyone has some type degree in web page design or Russian Philosophy (does that exist?). Great. People will be dropping dead in hospitals :-/
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I'm getting a little sick of googling state/world news and coming up with 459 different web pages that have all copied and pasted the same article .

i survived the day!

though i must admit i am feeling pretty sick still - the nerves just knotted me up inside.

however, everything went off without a hitch - all the senior judges looked fabulous in their ceremonial robes and a certain Minister of the Crown who shall remain nameless continue to breathe because i made sure to avoid him at all times!!!

AND...

Justice M thanked me in her closing remarks - from the bench, in open court!

then Justice T kept introducing me to all the visiting judges from around the province at the reception.

*whew*

I don't know why it's so hard for some to grasp generational theories (which is why there are date discrepancies). I have always found them interesting. Of course they are generalization. You can never apply one theory to every person, for numerous reason, but at the same time they have been helpful when look at the different things in life that shape a generation. 9/11. The emergence of AID's, etc. Many are shared but if you are a child it will shape you differently than someone who is a teen or adult at that time. You may be watching the war on TV while someone else is fighting it. It's not meant to be taken as a letter of the law description of each individual, but taken as a moments in history/shared experiences that basically bond you will the people you grew up with. I wasn't a "latch key kid" but I knew several. I was a part of a counter culture in X, etc. It's useful for history and sociology, but not to this guy

I'm happy to see that some more info about Z is coming out, with the oldest being 17-18. They are coming across as realists who do not expect too much, due to financial times and other events. (I can take that when applied to the eldest. It's too early to tell with the others). They have also been reduced to a 10-15 year generation, as opposed to 20 or 20+ years like all other except X. Makes sense. The oldest, middle, and youngest all have X parents, and we are realists too, though described as cynics. Close enough.

They appear to also love their name. Gen Z(ed). Zombies. I like these kids already.

I always love the dark horses. Besides, if you were going to take Howe & Strauss letter of the law about everything you would believe that Gen Y was going to collapse society, gen X will have to lead them in the right direction. I prefer to look at the things that already happened, and take their future predictions with a grain of salt. They find it fun, and it's an interesting read/theory based on cycles through out history.

so... that Minister of the Crown has been whining to everyone in our communications branch about the lack of press coverage at yesterday's event. he is VERY unhappy that he did not get interviewed or his photograph taken and doesn't believe that we sent out any media notice.

the story on the news last night wasn't good enough because it wasn't all about HIM!

The fallout from Sadie's hit-and-run has been resolved. I was too upset to talk about it before I knew what would happen. In the end, common sense and decency prevailed, and I am most mightily relieved.

I give thanks.

We have no street light lights and if they are wearing dark clothes... Not good. A friend of mine killed someone not too long ago. It was not my friends fault and was a perfectly aligned accident that could not be avoided. The person just walked out in front of him, in the pouring rain.

Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for asking

I have this guy who works for me that just never shuts up. I'll ask him one question, and get a ten minute answer. I'm busy, you should get busy, it was a yes or no answer, move along now!

Or worse, he'll try and talk to me about stuff he's interested in. I can fake interest pretty well, but after I've told you three times I don't read comic books, I have no idea what this one is about and I'm not really interested in the subject, you can shut up! Why you need to keep going on about it, I'll never know!
