I will say that it never occurred to me that posting that article could have ramifications (and I don't mean fifi's response, I mean in general) and it's certainly made me think about things I post and that yes, I'm obviously a little too disconnected. I appreciate fifi's input on this

It's the nature of the beast, now more than ever. A norm, and a norm that I can not agree with. I find it just as bad as the stuff Romeo Rose was saying, and you know that old adage, "Two wrongs don't make a right". I was glad to see that some of the sources for original articles/blogs/content went back and removed some info that made it a little easier to lash out, and stated they in no way expected this to become as big as it did (the trends over the past few years say different, but...)

The same night I got so frustrated, I noticed people were bumping old guitar forums he used to post in. People were talking about his Judge Judy appearance and saying he should kill himself, making fun of his physical appearance, and some were giving his real name and saying he has some serious mental issues and attention seeking behaviors. That I do not doubt. The next time he got into a spat with someone over music, it was the same thing. Year after year. There were threads dedicated to making fun of him. I even came across one where he threatened to commit suicide, live via webcam, in 2008. If all is on the up & up, this is obviously not a stable person. I've actually taken calls from people who were watching another attempt to kill their self, live, by fire, after interweb spats. Fun times!

Imo, Huffington Post made a huge mistake interviewing him. They just ate right into it, and this time he made it to USA Today, and several other larger news sources. (Which is laughable because the media is the first to hammer people for not seeing the warning signs before a tragedy, after it occurs. It's also my mistake for expecting the words responsible & journalism to still belong in the same sentence). Now that he has really gained some negative attention on a much larger scale, what's next? How do you top that? One would hope getting help would be a priority, but that won't happen. Instead he got non stop harassing phone calls, emails, and comments on his YT video's saying, "Kill yourself! Kill yourself! Kill yourself!" "I hope you die a horrible death!" That is until they were disabled.

What he wrote and then said after the backlash was horrible, but this can be a very dangerous game to play, especially over a dating add which pretty much so insured no would in Austin would have anything to do with him anyway. He needed no help messing up his own life. Like many others, he doing just fine on his own. In another week (or two or as soon as the next one comes along) most everyone will forget about it. That shows how important this one strangers (dare I say forever) single's add is, in the grand scheme of things. Watching the type of behaviors being promoted.... Well, that's a different story (and why Kimmels twerking prank was genius). I hope authorities in Austin are keeping tabs on the situation. One never knows.

(Okay, I'm done)

I'm still on break. Just wanted to say that & that I am not going to leave, for good. I like ya'll too much! Now I have to get back to it. I have been stuck in an episode of Breaking Bad the past two nights. For Really Real.

I got a PM from a salon I've never reviewed. What's up with that? Are we being spammed personally now?

Neville's diary, day 30

Human still insists on doing this thing called exercise instead of paying attention to me. So far attempts to discourage this have been futile. I have even put myself in harms way to demonstrate how dangerous this activity is to no avail. That only gets me a few pets and removed from the room. But I think I have discovered a solution. I have found that while the human is doing something called yoga, I can climb on her during certain unstable positions and refuse to move. My personal favorite is the back of the thigh during something called warrior pose. A few short minutes in the right poses and she'll be too tired to continue and I can go back to ignoring her. Just the way it should be.
I was rather surprised that one of my co workers (who is 5 years older than me) could not remember any of the government shut downs in our lifetime and the other (who is 15 years older than me) could only remember the 80's shut downs. Especially considering that that the 95/96 shut downs (when I was college age) were the longest in US history. The first was going on about how it could never happen. Hello! Where have you been?
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Here we go again, for however long this lasts (hopefully not long). Where I live is surrounded by 2 National Parks, both to be closed, during the busiest tourist season. I remember how many tourists based businesses had to close in 96, during our 3rd busiest time. Locally, this will hurt if extended. On the upside, I won't be *****ing about tourists or traffic.

** I did get a little tickled reading some frantic posts from people who had already made reservations to come travel the parks. Can they really close them? Well yes, yes they can. They have gates with locks that go across the roads. Sure, you can park at the bottom hike several mountain miles to then hike a particular trail or attraction, but about 10 mountain miles up hill you're going to say eff the devils courthouse! I wouldn't want to be in grave yard fields ,while bears are making their last rounds to fill up for hibernation (mmmm. berries), with my car a billion miles away, either.

I'm off today and was so looking forward to sleeping in. Nope, wide awake at 6:30. My sister is visiting and they weren't up yet, so put some laundry in, made my nephew breakfast when he got up, fed the cats (who are both still sound asleep), starting getting stuff ready for thanksgiving and making a list for what's not already in the cupboard.

Now out on the deck (cause its October 2nd and 22C out....yeah Ontario!!!) having coffee.

Me thinking its gonna be nap time come 11am!

I've only been bitten by small dogs....although I did attempt a rescue that went poorly once, and wound up needing rabies shots just in case. That really sucked.

I love rotties. They have wonderful eyes. And those eyebrow markings! I always think of Good Dog Carl when I meet one.

Still, I think it's a little bit funny. He's a teenager! Aren't they usually emotional?

I think small dogs always feel the need to make up for their size. I've been accidentally nipped by several and intentionally (and lightly) bitten by a couple.

I've been torn up by many cats, accidentally and intentionally, but still adore them.

My childhood dog (small and a mix of 3 breeds) used to bite at your pants legs and try to pull you back inside as you were leaving. Occasionally she would bite a little too hard and get the back of your leg. She never broke the skin. The only person she out right bit was my brother. He lived in Atlanta and was the least well known family member. He would come home to visit and hug me, and it would scare her to death. She didn't know who this man was or if he was hurting me. Again, she never broke the skin. She was far too sweet to really hurt anyone.

I love big dogs, too. Great Danes are my favorites. I am very careful around PB's and Rotties here. I have met some great ones, but we have (or had) several people who fought dogs and those were their breeds of choice. I have ran into some really damn scary dogs in those breeds. It's all due to what the owner did to them, but they would seriously rather rip your throat out than look at you.

That's why I ask people to have a little understanding when it comes to officers and their fears/worries of dogs. They run into some really bad stuff. Drug dealers use dogs, in rather bad ways, to throw off K-9's and attack. They end up dealing with aggressive animals in fight rings and they have watched more than one child being ripped apart. That messes with your perspective a bit. I am glad that more LEO agencies are doing training on how to deal with dogs. I can't say that's a huge problem here. All dogs that have been put down, had to be put down. If it comes to a human life or attacking dog, they are going with person. One can't blame them for that. We did recently have a case where a utility worker was being followed by an aggressive dog, he asked the owners to put it up, they refused, the dog charged him in an aggressive manner, and he did what he had to do. He lost his job and was sued. I can't find that right. It was the owners fault. People have to have some understanding that someone may have been mauled in the past, may have a horrible fear, etc. and put up their animals. Utility workers are bitten more than the proverbial post man.

*and yes, teenagers are typically basket cases

We have a new K-9 that is strictly S&R (i don't want a need for it, but would love to see the rescue portion in action) that I love! It's a lab. She's so sweet. I like the bite dogs too, but they make me a little nervous, and I have mixed emotions on that. Amazing to watch though, and very well trained. The males bite the sleeve harder but the females hit the hardest. They will knock a grown man for a loop, and that can come in handy. They have saved some lives on the very rare occasions that they had to be used for anything other than a search. ETA: When it comes to the possibility of one or more (officer or perp) people getting shot and ending up seriously injured or dead or the use of a BD... I'll pick a bite on the arm from a healthy dog with current shots over the alternative.
