Well that was weird. I needed to run to the Dollar Store and get some bathroom hand soap for work. On my way back to work, as I was heading down hill, I see a man with long hair, wearing a jean jacket, walking in the middle of the road. I slow down, he stops, jumps around to face me, and and has this completely lost look on his face. He looked exactly like Bob from Twin Peaks

He crouches down and gives me the weirdest look

And then he growled at me

So I just drove around him

Michele Bachmann Outcrazies Herself In Bizarre 'End Times' Interview

I appreciate Michele Bachmann on a level that's most people do not. She's made of pure hatred for humanity that has been subjected to unfathomable amounts of Minnesota Nice pressure for decades, resulting in a glittering, multifaceted diamond of oh gee gosh golly lunacy that just sparkles with crackling repression and ignorance. She's perfect.

while "perfect" is not the word i would have chosen, i have to say i agree with the rest of that assessment.

all i can say about the quote in the article is...

holy whackadoodle, Batman!

I know the numbers have declined further in the past few months. I heard something about it on the news yesterday. Burn baby burn! It should have never went on this long. Shows like this are a phase, not a constant. Just like the days of 100,000 game shows and Circus of the Stars, etc...

* Random edit* I had to double check the old COTS. I knew it was not weekly but couldn't remember the scheduling and it was going to bother me for no reason. It was one episode a year from the late 70's to early 90's. That way they had real time to rehearse (because these people were actually busy). I think I stopped watching in the late 80's, but I vividly remember Wonder Woman (Linda Carter) on and elephant and The Wheel of Death. Brooke Shields walking on broken glass, and the sister from Different Strokes (Dana Plato) doing the tight rope and trapeze. Oh, and Bo Duke riding his motorcycle through a wall of fire. Haha

Fall is, with out a doubt, my favorite time of year BUT I am not fond of the A/C in the day and heat on at night portion of the program. Especially when I work nights. I'm always worried I'll forget to switch it before bed and wake up in a puddle. Last night was the first time I thought I might need it (okay the cats, because I wasn't here) set to 68, and I was right. I'm wondering how my friend faired. He was freezing to death, wearing a hoodie, and under his comforter when I talked to him at 7. it was 65 outside. Lol. I told him he better turn on the heat before the sun went down and temps started to drop.

Other than random talk about the weather, I am so very, very exhausted. It was a slow night, which is a great thing, but it makes you very brain dead. I do hope the teenager from the last call I took is okay. I don't know what's going on with the little guy.

recently, several friends with school aged children had a convo on FB about smart phones (are they necessary, etc)
one of the friends commented that all of her kids (7 of them? she recently hooked up with a guy who has 4 kids of his own) have iphones

fast forward to a week or so ago - she posted on fb that she wants to send her daughter on a school trip to Europe at Sprng Break and posted a link for people to contribute

this weekend, she posted pics of herself at a festival, photos of the drink signs (this one $9; that one $ and was listing all the ones she had. and posts pics of her starbucks a few times each week.

every single day she posts this link to help her daughter go on this trip - and every day it bugs the crap out of me, if you kids all have iphones (and iphone plans), and you can afford drinks at festivals and starbucks regularly, please don't ask me for money

(I can only access fb from my phone - it's blocked at work, which is why i haven't blocked her!!)

I loved Project Runway, but the drama in it has increased every year. I don't give a damn why you're crying at your dress form. Lol. I hear the challenge, see the sketches and fabrics chosen and then I fwd to the runway show. It's hard not to watch something in the reality realm because it's on almost every channel, every night. I've watched Dance Moms repeats at 3 am when working. Again, I didn't care about the drama, but it kept me awake. I watched Toddlers and Tiaras for a while. It was my favorite case study. *I was mortified by the spray tanning, hair coloring, teeth bleaching, and horrific parenting being done to tot's.* It's more like train wreck (but I finally turned away), and I watched Honey Boo Boo after she appeared on T&T a few times. More recently my co workers got me hooked on Duck Dynasty. They watch a lot of the Swamp People, Ice Road Truckers type ... whatever. It's not the typical reality show I watch, but it is good for a laugh. I honestly wont care if all of them end though. I only pay real attention to one, and it's because I'm bored.

*one more edit... does anyone even cook on Food Network anymore? It's all Chopped, Cut Throat Kitchen, whoever that guy is who comes in a screams at people with failing restaurants. (Well, my phone is not working right. Try again) Through the 2000's, I have already watched the downfall of Music Television, The Learning Chanel and Arts & Entertainment Chanel. Very sick of the reality take over. Executives are a bit over zealous.

maybe Food Network Canada is different, but we do still have some cooking shows in between the competitions.

on Telelatino last night, I watched Nigella Lawson - yummy!

We do still have some cooking shows but they being shown less and less. I don't mind the ones like... Diners, Drive-In's and Dives, but I don't consider that in the reality realm anyway. It's more of a handy travel guide. If you are in ... state and want good BBQ, try this place! BUT, it's becoming far too reality/competition oriented. Chopped, Cut Throat Kitchen, Iron Chef, Cup Cake Wars, Pastry Wars, Cake Wars, Restaurant Makeover, whatever the one is where they bring in hidden cameras and fire employees who are stealing or goofing off, Food Truck Wars, Food Truck Race, long and drawn out BBQ cook off's, The Next Food Network Chef, Chef Wanted, on and on. I enjoyed the comp's (BBQ cook off's, etc) more when they were just a here and there special.

I get annoyed enough when someone pesters (not asks but pesters) me to go to some page, like their friends, child's, picture that has been entered in a contest and then share it on my wall, and ask my friends to do the same. I don't know this person. *My friends lose their isht over game requests. They do not want to be solicited* The only way I would do this is if it was a close friend or relative. Go away!

I hate some calls. People get furious with me over things I have no control over and can not help. I would never refuse to send someone help but I will explain the rules/laws to them. I absolutely will send you an ambulance BUT (considering that you have said the adult in question is refusing to go, will be combative and they will have to force them to go) an adult does not have to go to the hospital against their wishes. They can not be forced. Especially when they are not having an immediate medical problem, but you are concerned they will at some point. You can ... If you say no to every option I give you, I can't help. I'm trying, but all they hear is, "you don't give a f**k". They couldn't be more wrong.

Bless one of my friends hearts. She tried to put together a fund raiser for a guy in his early 30's who had a massive stroke. It has left him disabled. She sent out all the requests for everyone to attend and then the closer it got to the date, she flew into a panic. She had nothing for it. She had not been working with anyone. She needed tents, chairs, coolers, ice, drinks, cups, plates, utensils, food, cakes for cake walks, on and on and on. I had to work and could not go, but I thought... If you are asking the entire guest list to fund the fund raiser how do you expect to get extra money for the benefactor? Most people hit up funeral homes for tents and chairs. Yeah, a little depressing, but they have plenty. You talk to stores about donations. He's a local guy and many people know him, like him, and want to help. Your average person can bring coolers, and bake cakes for cake walks, etc. That's a standard but they can't buy burgers and hot dogs for 250 people.

It was the 3rd or 4th fund raiser for him anyway so I think people were a little tapped out.
