It's Thanksgiving weekend!!!!! My most favorite food holiday of the year!!! Working today, then a few hours tomorrow morning and we're headed to the lake house.

Everything that can be packed, is ready and waiting on the dining room table. Cold stuff has it's own shelf in the fridge and just has to go into the cooler.

Fresh pizzas have been ordered, and will be ready to pick up at a deli on our way out of town tomorrow for dinner when we get there. Then all day Sunday, lounging, drinking, prepping, eating....so flippen excited!!!

It's gonna be busy, 16 people will be there, but so much fun!! And soooo much food!!!!!

See, now you are thinking of things the right way, LOL

I'm not 100% sure how PLEX works, but you can skip Plex and watch shows online

since you already have a roku box, How about doing a little research and then spending week cable free and see how you do. I just cut, no research, no trial. I just saw my bill and say enough, LOL!

I'll stew on it over the weekend, perhaps ready to make a call come monday (maybe, change is always a scary one for me!!)

Well, official night 1 of the reunion is going great! I'm frozen and just had to make a brief pit stop at home in between the game and a party with a bonfire. Woot! It's been a while since I've been to a pizza, beer and bonfire party (complete with 90's music). It's kind of funny. Everyone was talking about how they didn't go to other reunions, thought they didn't want to go to this one, but we all ended up being excited about it.

Fun! Glad you're having a good time.

In a couple of weeks, we're having a mini reunion. I went to HS in England and we all scattered after graduation, but a friend (he lives here in Houston) just got married to his partner of nearly 20 years and several HS friends are flying in for the celebration party weekend. It's always a good time to see this group, I'm getting pretty excited.

Aw! I hope you have a wonderful time.

I had a blast tonight. I'm pretty buzzzzed at the moment. I have not drank since August, and one beer did the trick. The bonfire was great. Good music, good food, good times. Tomorrow I have been invited to a lunch at noon. Based on what I was told tonight, one of my oldest and closest friends (who is in from California, will be announcing his engagement to his partner of 5 years. They are a fantastic match.

It feels good to be at home and in my pj's. I'm ready to wash my face and crawl in bed. Between the lunch tomorrow, coming home and getting ready for our dinner tomorrow night, and a free show from a class mate who is a country singer (been on CMT and everything, not that I like country music)... I will be beat. Hammered, I dare to say.

off to mom's shortly for Thanksgiving. no wild and crazy food fest here like CC is having; there's only the 3 of us this year and mom's life is still mostly in boxes.

we are going to try to solve the mystery of the kitchen storage this weekend AND...

i get to go to Ikea!

no internet access - i'll see y'all on Monday night!

I laughed so hard last night. I have not been to a high school football game since 93. I had completely forgotten (just like everyone else) that a woman who lives behind the school shoots her gun every time we get a touchdown. Haha. At first we were all like... Who the **** is shooting? Where is that coming from? Then we remembered and died. I left the game early and happened to be watching as she ran outside in her bathrobe and pulled the trigger. Some things never change in redneckville, nor should they.

I am becoming plant obsessed. 3 of my plants are not happy. I can't figure out how to make them happy or if this is normal winter behavior. As a fixer, this is bugging the ish out of me.

Then I have an exotic plant with a very specific watering schedule. They describe how to know when to water and when to stop based on what it's doing. Then in the next paragraph proceed to say that stuff might not happen.

It was recently the 28th anniversary of the senate hearings against offensive content in music, lead by Tipper Gore and PMRC (Parents Music Resource Council). While Frank Zappa's (so funny he was not mentioned in the "filthy fifteen" and Al Gore admitted to liking his music. I loved Zappa, but he sang about far worse than several of the people mentioned) moment on the stand is still my favorite, I did love this part of Dee Snider's (Twisted Sisters) transcript.

Say It. I Dare You.-imageuploadedbycurltalk1381593163.439258.jpg

"Since I seem to be the only person addressing this committee today who has been a direct target of accusations from the presumably responsible PMRC, I would like to use this occasion to speak on a more personal note and show just how unfair the whole concept of lyrical interpretation and judgment can be and how many times this can amount to little more than character assassination.

I have taken the liberty of distributing to you material and lyrics pertaining to these accusations. There were three attacks in particular which I would like to address.

Accusation No. 1. This attack was contained in an article written by Tipper Gore, which was given the forum of a full page in my hometown newspaper on Long Island. In this article Ms. Gore claimed that one of my songs, "Under the Blade," had lyrics encouraging sadomasochism, bondage, and rape.

The lyrics she quoted have absolutely nothing to do with these topics. On the contrary, the words in question are about surgery and the fear that it instills in people. Furthermore, the reader of this article is led to believe that the three lines she quotes go together in the song when, as you can see, from reading the lyrics, the first two lines she cites are an edited phrase from the second verse and the third line is a misquote of a line from the chorus.

That the writer could misquote me is curious, since we make it a point to print all our lyrics on the inner sleeve of every album. As the creator of "Under the Blade," I can say categorically that the only sadomasochism, bondage, and rape in this song is in the mind of Ms. Gore.

Accusation No. 2. The PMRC has made public a list of 15 of what they feel are some of the most blatant songs lyrically. On this list is our song "We're Not Gonna Take It," upon which has been bestowed a "V" rating, indicating violent lyrical content.

You will note from the lyrics before you that there is absolutely no violence of any type either sung about or implied anywhere in the song. Now, it strikes me that the PMRC may have confused our video presentation for this song with the song with the lyrics, with the meaning of the lyrics.

It is no secret that the videos often depict story lines completely unrelated to the lyrics of the song they accompany. The video "We're Not Gonna Take It" was simply meant to be a cartoon with human actors playing variations on the Roadrunner/Wile E. Coyote theme, Each stunt was selected from my extensive personal collection of cartoons.

You will note when you watch the entire video that after each catastrophe our villain suffers through, in the next sequence he reappears unharmed by any previous attack, no worse for the wear.

By the way, I am very pleased to note that the United Way of America has been granted a request to use portions of our "We're Not Gonna Take It" video in a program they are producing on the subject of the changing American family. They asked for it because of its "light-hearted way of talking about communicating with teenagers."

It is gratifying that an organization as respected as the United Way of America appreciates where we are coming from. I have included a copy of the United Way's request as part of my written testimony. Thank you, United Way.

Accusation No. 3. Last Tuesday a public forum regarding the lyric controversy was held in New York. Among the panelists was Ms. Gore. Trying to stem the virtual tidal wave of antiratings sentiment coming from the audience, Ms. Gore made the following statement:

I agree this is a small percentage of all music, thank goodness. But it is becoming more mainstream. You look at even the t-shirts that kids wear and you see Twisted Sister and a woman in handcuffs sort of spread-eagled.

This is an outright lie. Not only have we never sold a shirt of this type; we have always taken great pains to steer clear of sexism in our merchandise, records, stage show, and personal lives. Furthermore, we have always promoted the belief that rock and roll should not be sexist, but should cater to males and females equally.

I feel that an accusation of this type is irresponsible, damaging to our reputation, and slanderous. I defy Ms. Gore to produce such a shirt to back up her claim. I am tired of running into kids on the street who tell me that they cannot play our records any more because of the misinformation their parents are being fed by the PMRC on TV and in the newspapers.

These are the only three accusations I have come across. All three are totally unfounded. Who knows what other false and irresponsible things may have been said about me or my band. There happens to be one area where I am in complete agreement with the PMRC, as well as the National PTA and probably most of the parents on this committee. That is, it is my job as a parent to monitor what my children see, hear, and read during their preteen years. The full responsibility for this falls on the shoulders of my wife and I, because there is no one else capable of making these judgments for us."

It's all your in your head Tipper. It's all in your head. Lol

(and this habit of misquoting or telling out right lies while attempting to dictate what people hear and see is part of the reason why I want radical feminism to die in a fire)

I am completely stuck between outfits for tonight. It's going to be a little more dressy, but I still want to be comfortable and warm.

I have a nice pair of navy dress pants and a navy see through blouse that has some cut outs and gold embellishments that I could pair with a plumy brown clutch and pumps (which go with my polish).

Or I have a long sweater that has a black and gray shell attached, and a bright multi colored clutch. I could wear it with my long knit pencil skirt (pictured), a pair of black leggings, or tights. I have black heels, black boots and a cute pair of turquoise heels, and a few different belts I could wear with it, if need be.

I'd start with shoes, which ones will make you feel awesome and fabulous (and comfy), then go from there

Hmph. ILs gave the boys money for the carnival we do not want to go to. They are really excited about it. Must come up with distraction.
