Sometimes I don't know why I bother growing out my hair. I like it, but I end up putting it up 95% of the time.

And as for you, madam, why on earth do you tell people so much about your life? Keep your problems to yourself, or your big family and friends. It's creepy, and kinda gross, frankly. Besides, it was C.'s birthday lunch. Wasn't it enough that you combined it with a meeting?

Haircuts, you're a drag.

And S. I'm so sorry about your news. I wish I found it more unbelievable than I do. I'll do whatever you want me to to help. He truly is an addict. I'm so disappointed about the lying.

The good news is, I found a tootsie roll in the candy dish at work.

I hated Miss Scarlett. That in no way says Vivian did not do a good job playing a spoiled, vindictive, selfish, manipulative brat... because she did. A very good job.

I do not know how many years it took me to make it through that movie. I tried to watch so many times, over many years, but I couldn't get past her. I could not relate anything about her to being a true southern woman. Just a small portion of elite b's (indeed) that became the stereotypical majority, as opposed to the larger numbers of incredibly hard working, wild women who were among the first to flip a finger at proper dress codes. I think I finally made it through the whole thing in my late 20's.

I did like Rhett though.

I might look at those kitchens one of these days - they seem to largely be in areas where I have family. Very strange.

J/k, wouldn't want to feed the trolls.

My co workers are killing me. I had my virus and was out for 4 but one took off 2 days when I was out, all 4 nights when our other co worker was out for all 4, the 3 following days without even telling anyone she was going to be out, period. She came back in tonight with a list of days she needs off, and then they both went to sleep around 12am. I don't want to be a b. I know her kids are both involved in stuff for the first time, but she's going to have to say no to some things. It sucks, but it's life. I can't even begin to count how many times no one was at my talent, chorus, dance shows & competitions. They had to work, and they did not "have" to chaperone on my 8th grade trip, NY trip, Disney World Trip, etc. That's her. I didn't want my parents anywhere around on those trips. That was time away. Anywho, One is on 2 different cheerleading teams, junior high band and chorus and the other is doing show choir, band, and wants to do something else. It's constant performances at games, and competitions out of town. Plus she has church activities that she misses work for. She can't take off constantly and be too worthless to work when she comes back in. We have been down this road with other co workers. She knows the drill and isn't all of a sudden special.

This is why I have always said I would not be doing this job if I had kids. Not that it's completely horrible. We have 2 weekends off a month where she is free and clear to watch her girls, and another where she can catch a game depending on time, and time off during the week. We're normally laid back and don't make a fuss. We'd never say... NO! You can never take extra time off to watch your kids!! but there are some rules. Don't take off if another co worker is scheduled to be off, unless it is an emergency, because it causes major problems due to lack of good PT help. And don't take off continuously, not allowing your co workers any breathing room. She has been breaking the crap out of those. On top of everything else she has a sick mother, father, step father and Aunt in law that constantly call needing her to do something. You can't do it all while working 12 hour swing shifts in a job where an entire county needs you to do something/help. Someone is going to have to call another family mbr, or deal with you missing a performance here and there. I completely understood that my mom could not do it all. For 1.5 years she went to work, came home, ate dinner with us, made sure my dads blood sugar was okay, packed a bag, left in enough time to relieve the home health nurse and stayed all night with her dying mom who had dementia. She did it all again the next day. Her mom was more important than our yearly Christmas Concert.

I really hope the rest of this stretch goes like tonight. Nice. Hardly any calls. Plenty of busy road officers who needed to lay down and take a nap. I did help catch 3 robbers simply by having the most excellent timing of all. Score!

Fifi,

I have a coworker who is oblivious to taking time off, she doesn't necessarily break any rules but the inconsiderate part of it is astounding. Her daughter is in her 20s but still she has to leave early/come in late/miss days because her daughter this or that ("needs to go to the dr", "has an appointment" - there isn't an ongoing health issue or anything, that'd be different, she's just over protective) - and often gets migraines (which I know are real things but they tend to fall on monday mornings, etc).

I think there are some general rules of respectfulness and not taking advantage that a lot of people don't understand/follow

^That is exactly it, and it does get frustrating. I went through this with a co worker when I first started. She wanted both of her weekends off, every time she worked, so she could watch her som play county football. We were only 2 to a shift then. She didn't think about her co worker or anyone else. i worked all but one, which I told her about in advance, and she went to the supervisor and complained about me. Stupid. She ended up getting herself in trouble.

I had to hurry and write down two days that I need off right after Thanksgiving. lol. I will have at least 3 people staying in my house, and no chance of sleep what so ever. Not with the restless nephews.

I am running so behind today. I slept later than I thought I would.

My morning did not go so well. Lol. I had to run to the world of wally and get some items I needed, asap. I decided to pick up a cat scratcher while I was there. It's helpful for my fuzzy girl, given the way her nails grow funny. She won't use scratching posts. I bought one that is lower to the ground and she laid on it, so I thought I would try the flat, pressed, cardboard variety that comes with catnip. I bought a large and small one, so the cats would not fight. Opened the large first, did a little dusting of nip, and she was on it in a second, scratching away. She apparently got too excited and threw up her breakfast all over it. I had to toss it, and open the little one which they proceeded to fight over. I wake up today and it is torn to shreds. It's easy to tell who the culprit is. He has pieces of cardboard stuck all over his fur. Hehe

Guess I'll have to try something else. Maybe one of the round ones that has a toy attached. Idk

I had a good time at lunch with everyone, but I really, really wish I hadn't ordered that mac and cheese.

I feel fat and sick.

Awww. My nephew has been texting me, here and there, the past 2 nights. He's partly doing it to stay awake on his night shift He has just started working them, and I know how hard it can get at specific hours of the night, but he also loves to keep in touch with family. He calls my mom every tuesday, used to call my dad every night between 12 & 1 am, and now I get sporadic late night texting honors when on night shifts. It's good to hear from him. I've been curious about his internship. I'll just have to take a breath and remain calm. I still don't like the fact that he's working at a nuclear power plant:
