An Ashley Simpson song making it into the top 40 on a countdown of the top 100 songs of the 2000's shows everything that is wrong with the world. Britney Spears Toxic, I can live with. That and I'm A Slave 4 U (I would prefer just that one)

http://youtu.be/Mzybwwf2HoQ

because they were both danceable, but's that it. Jenny from the block and her rocks can go away too. Singer she is not. Yep, not my over all favorite time period in music.

Scrills, that's just awful. I posted here yesterday saying I hoped the kids hadn't seen anything ( I think my post disappeared into the ether somewhere). No such luck, poor things.

Today's my last day at work! It's been interesting there. The job wasn't so bad but the manager is not someone I think I could work with for much longer. I'm so excited for my new job. I start on Monday and am also looking forward for these next 5 days off! Gonna try to make it to the aquarium! Just gotta get through one last day!

Every local news station keeps showing the story of 2 little kids who were hit by a car. A little girl in kindergarten and her toddler brother. She did not make it, and he is still fighting but has several life threatening injuries. The driver will not be charged. It was an accident and one I am sure that will haunt them for the rest of their life. The mothers boyfriend however will be charged for neglect. He was walking them across the busy road and not paying attention. I don't know what it is about that story but every time they show pic's of those kids I it is all I can do to not cry. They were showing cards the little girls classmates made today. Ugh Kill me. So sweet and sad.

What a sad thing. We've had a couple of patients in lately with ptsd from fatal MVA's they've been involved in (not at fault in any way). The effect it has on people is massive, I don't think it ever goes away. And the parents - I can't even imagine.

How funny. The new probation employee is a guy I have known since I was 4 and he was 2. We wen't to the same babysitter. Someone just asked me to give them dirt on him and I said... "Nate pushed him down the basement stairs when he was 3 so, in case you were wondering, that's whats wring with him." He freaked out. "What!?!?!? I don't remember that!" I am not surprised. Hahaha. Evil. At one point there were 4 of us, and 2 were my age. 2 other girls I went through school with lived across the road and would ride their bikes over or walk over and play. (This is when parents felt comfortable letting their 4 year olds wonder all over the place by themselves). Nate told him our babysitter was at the bottom of the basement stairs. He asked where, looked, and wham!! There went the baby. He was fine. Cried a lot, but fine. That is until I told our babysitter what he did.

Kids can be so mean.

Some insurance providers are changing their policies (literally and figuratively). So maybe not the case?

But i'm so sorry to hear this. How awful. They are all in my prayers, esp the kids.

I can't wait to go home and relax. I have had an annoying headache all day. Unfortunately I have to go to the store first, and quickly clean before I can shower and settle in. The bestie will be meeting me as soon as I get off work tomorrow for dinner, movies and facials at my house. I need to priss it up while I have a chance.

I work really hard at being thankful. I begin and end my day listing the things I'm grateful for. I find it really helps me to stay positive and in the right frame of mind. The last few days I've just been in a funk. I think I get ahead of it then it sneaks up and bites me in the a** again.

I don't like being this person. I need to figure a way out of this funk. I'm heading to yoga tonight, I'm sure that will help a bit.

I'm pretty sure I know the source, so that (theoretically) helps, too.

I hope you get out of your funk soon, Perri. Hopefully yoga will help, and knowing the source always does.

I am a big ol rule breaker! I have washed my hair 3 days in q row this week, used a conditioner with cones, and might straighten my hair tonight. GASP!! In all fairness, I tried a new product that didn't work well and had to wash it again last night. I usually wait 2 or 3 days in between washes (longer if I am off) and I have not used a flat iron in 2 years so I think I am good.

Other than that, I don't give a isht. I just want to.

I find that sometimes when I'm feeling bad, if I just let myself sulk and wallow, especially if I can spend time disconnected from the world (i.e., reading in bed with the dogs), I either get over it, or start to find my own misery funny enough that it fades.

But whatever works for you, of course.

On a different note, I wish my arms were slim. I also wish that Zappos sold everything I want — it's just that wonderful.

Lastly, I'm delighted to be writing about a rodeo involving big machinery instead of animals. It's just so peculiar and funny and male, although there was some kind of librarian performance with book carts which I recently saw online, wherein the women all dressed as Valkyries, so perhaps it isn't just a male urge, this wish to publicly display your skills, no matter how obscure.

Anyway......

I also wonder why my dogs have that small extra gusset in their ears.

I really wish the raccoons on my porch realized it is not their bathroom. They keep leaving gifts by my door. It must be a thank you present for the bowl of water I left out. Unfortunately, it was frozen. I feel bad now. They like to drink and wash their little paws in the water, and it's a long trip to find some when the natural springs are not flowing.

I was just talking to my mom and I could hear a parrot in the background. She always watches nature/animal shows in the evening. I knew it was an Amazon right away. My friend used to have one, along with 2 umbrella cockatoo's. The Amazon was a hot mess. She would sing, "Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the La La La La La La Bamba. Vaaaaaaannnnnncccccooooooouuuuu!" One day she chased my friend into the bathroom, stood outside the door, bouncing up and down saying... Here, kitty kitty kitty kitty. Where you going, kitty kitty kitty kitty? Crazy thing flipped on a dime (not turned, but flipped. domesticated to wild/wanna bite your face off, which is perfectly normal) but she was so much fun. I still run into the UC's, in various pet stores, and 20+ years later they say my name and yell, "Oh, pretty girl" when I walk in. Then I have to take them out of their cages and let them spin in circles on my fingers. I love those birds. I begged my mom for one years ago. Every time I tried to walk away from it in the pet store it screamed, "Don't go, Mama". Broke my heart!

I often wonder about the ear thing too.

I usually hibernate, lick my wounds and buck up. I think that's the plan for the weekend, just not able to do it with the work week getting in the way of my need for self indulgence

I'm very excited to hear of such a rodeo!
