Wait... When did I miss a discussion about a giant seahorse?

I just found out my extended co workers youngest sister was murdered. Her son was killed in a car accident last year, around this exact same time. Idk how she will handle this. To top it all of, her sister (who does not live here) was murdered by her own son.

When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

How am I supposed to go to sleep when I have Little Girls from Annie blasting in my head?

If I wring little necks surely I will get an acquittal! Some women are dripping with diamonds. Some women are dripping with pearls. Lucky me, lucky me, look at what I'm dripping with. Little Girls.

How I hate little shoes, little socks and each little bloomer. I'd of cracked years ago if weren't for my sense of humor. Some day I'll step on their freckles. Some night I'll straighten their curls. Send the flood, send the flu, anything that you can do to Little Girls

Carols Burnett was magic in that role. Though I think she has comedic talent, I am very iffy about Cameron playing Ms Hannigan in the remake or "Modern Annie".

ETA: I hope Jay Z, Will Smith (they are producing), Jamie Fox, Cameron, and every other person involved that is within a 5 year age range of me knows exactly how important this movie is. They should. I was 6 or 7 when the movie came out and still remember every moment of going to see it. My dad took me in his old light turquoise blue chevy truck, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, I laughed and cried, and I talked about it all the way home other than the moments that I rolled the windows down to listen to crickets and frogs/feel the wind on my face, and hum the songs. If this is a let down... we will show no mercy.

It's cold and snowy here too, Rou. I'm in for the day (except for walkies). Loaded up on groceries and pet food this morning. The latest forecast reads: naps for everybody!"

I stopped watching Criminal Minds for some unknown reason. I recorded it since it happened to follow Survivor this week.

This episode was very.....disturbing. You can't help but feel the killer was kind of justified. What is the solution to a problem like that? Obviously killing isn't in a civilized society, but society was decidedly not civilized. That guy definitely deserved some justice. However, there isn't any for people like that.....is there?

Ridiculously disturbing.

What was the episode about?

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with my teenage cousin who has some issues and crazy thinking at times. She needs friends her own age and to learn how to cope in a healthy way with disappointment. I am usually pretty liberal, but I threw up just a little after this conversation and the earlier text. I don't want to discuss explicit sexual positions, porn or why teenagers should not be parents or that not all guys are whores. I need a drink. I think she tells me and other relatives crazy things to get us to react. I am just wiped out right now.

Now I remember why I put this particular tube of hand lotion away.

Pee-yoo.

^ I just gave some to my mom that I felt the same about. It is a fantastic hand lotion. Library of Flowers in Honeycomb. It's way too floral and strong for me. I picked up a tube of their True Vanilla and gave her my other. She loves it.

ETA: I have worn (and re applied) this True Vanilla hand lotion the past few times I have worked and now, all of a sudden, my co worker is asking what I am using, saying it is so strong it is burning her nose and eyes, sniffing and coughing. Oh please. She did that two months after I started wearing D&G's The One. It all of a sudden upset her and was so strong she could not stand it, etc. It never bothered her before or since (hell no I am not going to stop wearing it. i picked it because it's lighter on me and I give it time to calm down before work). It's been allergies, a cold, or a cleaner someone has used that actually set her off each time.

Gross. Idk why some people try to fry everything that is not nailed down. I have nothing against fried food. I love fried green tomatoes, chicken, okra, squash, etc... but I refuse to try fried macaroni and cheese, candy bars, pizza, etc... The Chip Shop menu in Brooklyn is pretty freaking scary. I don't want a candy bar any where near my fish grease. Eeewww.

Maybe we will have a nice night. The temps are getting ready to plummet from 40 to 16, the wind is howling, and it's a good night to be at home in some warm jammies. It really does not feel like a Saturday night. It's more like a Tuesday night.

It's raining hundreds of Whirligigs! Otherwise known as helicopters, thingamajigs, maple tree seed pods or Samaras.

When you stop running around like a lunatic, chasing or trying to catch those, you may as well give up.

She could be saying that stuff to make you react, or simply be wild at the moment. How much younger than you is she? If you don't mind me asking.

On another note... Do not ever google anything about cousins. That will really make you want to throw up.

She is 16 years younger than me. She isn't wild; she is just curious about the wrong things. She had bad experiences in school and since she moved to Arizona, the kids at her schools are all into random sex and other roads to nowhere. She never fit in with them, which I am happy about. There is no one her age, so she is lonely. I think that is why she obsesses about having a boyfriend and sex. I want her to make friends and learn how to be comfortable with people her own age before trying to be a 25 yo at 16.

I've tried to get her involved with the boys and girls club leadership program, belly dancing and then soccer, but she gets anxious and finds a way to get out of it. These are all things she said she wanted to do. She attends online school, so all she has is time alone and the internet.

Aw. I see. That has to be hard, and it is not good to be alone all the time. Especially when it is just you, teenage hormones (15/16 is when me and many my friends fell in love for the first time), and the interweb. It leaves a great deal of time for day dreaming and speculation. I hate she had some bad experiences at school, but that is sometimes better (or at least more socially educational) than no experiences at all. Perhaps she will stop backing out and get out there. She should get involved in some things she is interested in, and make some friends. You're supposed to be venturing out more then, and experiencing more freedoms. It's a shame to miss out.

^ But then again I watched porn for the first time at 12 so... I find it normal and no kid is safe from that. It's a bit easier online, though. My friends father, who was a doctor, popped a XXX tape in, told us to come to him if we had any questions afterward and left. Nope. That summed the birds and bee's right up. We discussed it amongst ourselves, decided he was pretty cool (because that is typically only done for boys) and that we would never tell our folks. That would not be socially acceptable, in any way.

I love the episode of SITC where someone steals Carries expensive shoes at Tatum O'Neils house. I canMt remember the name of her character. She treats Carrie like crap, makes her feel bad for buying nice shoes (which she used to do too), and makes her feel like her life is completely meaningless and silly because she is married and does not have kids all as an excuse to avoid replacing her brand new shoes which she made her leave at the door. Carrie then calculates the thousands upon thousands of dollars she has spent celebrating her friends life choices. Marriage, kids, etc. and sends her a I'm marrying myself and registered for this pair of shoes card. Lol. One of my favorites.

Yes, I am bored half to death.

That's awful about your co-worker. It's unfair how so many bad things just keep happening to the same person/family, you'd think one tragedy would be enough. One of my colleagues seems to move from one thing to the next, so sad.

I really do not know how she will hold up. She kept begging my boss to let her hear the 911's from her sons friends when he was killed in the accident. He keeps telling her no, but she still asks. She seems to think it will help. I think it will drive her crazy. She works in the medical field, so it's that morbid curiosity. Of corse no parent will ever get over that, but it is still very fresh. I hate this happened to her baby sister. Too much. It is sad, and at times it does seem like people are being hammered by tragedy.

I know there are some scent lovers here. I will post this in case you are interested. It's the company that makes the True Vanilla hand cream my co worker is still b**ching about (even though I washed my hands not too long after, and have not put it back on in several hours). It's a company in Colorado ran by Margot Elena (Idk who she is but some of you might) that does small batches of perfumes, soaps, and lotions. The hand cream is very rich and fantastic. My hands are so dry right now, and this cream works magic. Even though I hated the smell of Honeycomb (it was a gift. the scent of old lady powders wrapped up in a beautiful box), I still used it just for it's benefits.

Something seems off with my lemon face cleanser. I just opened a new bottle and the smell is slightly different and it stung a little bit. That does not make me happy. It's my favorite.

Sigh. The temp has gone up to 25 now, but it feels like 14 with the wind chill. At one point last night the official temp was ISHT! Not ready for this, but I am loving my flannel pj's.

The episode was about a man, his wife, and adult son living in Virginia near Quantico. The title of the episode is "Strange Fruit." They lived under the same roof and were really mistrustful of white people. Their neighbors called 911 because a pipe burst in the neighborhood (who calls 911 for that?). Anyway, the city has to dig in their yard to find the leak.....and they find like 4 bodies/skeletons. They can tell from the bones that the bodies had been mutilated.

At first they think it's the son and force him to confess. But one is his dead girlfriend who happened to be white. Then they find a body that was killed 35 years ago, but the son is only 30. So they know the killer is the dad.

The dad really, really does not trust white people. One of the investigators reveals an act of racism and assault he participated in as a kid to get the father to talk more. He also tells him he married a black woman hoping he will talk, but he just gets angry. They continue searching the home and find the son and father were both taking testosterone, but the son was taking it to bulk up back in high school and stole it from the father. They also find a letter written to the father 35 years ago from a woman (who is white) he went to school with....she apologizes for "telling a lie that destroyed him," because she's dying of cancer.

Basically, the father was a senior in high school when his female classmate accused him of rape to cover for having pre-marital sex with her boyfriend. The father was kidnapped by six teenage boys including the woman's brother (all members of a particular Klan group called The Cleanse), taken to the woods, and castrated. He managed to survive and his family did not seek help of any kind. Apparently he became severely depressed and stated that "hate grew in me that night". He killed 2 of the men that castrated him and the daughters of two other men who participated but who had already died in reaction to the letter from his accuser. He mutilated the genitals of each person after he killed them, and he says "they were lucky because they were already dead when I did it." The episode ends with the father agreeing to tell where the other two bodies are buried as long as the FBI does not reveal to his son that he was castrated and his son is not biologically the fathers. Apparently the mother knows he was castrated and this is why she is very mistrustful of whites, but she also says when her son was born she was sad because he was a boy and "this country doesn't treat black boys well," or something to that effect. They never explain how she had her son. Presumably the father goes to jail.

It was really creepy. Oh yeah, one of the women he killed was his son's girlfriend who happened to be the daughter of one of his attackers. So he was totally wrong to kill those women, but I felt his killing those men was justified.
