Up way too early but the weather is crap.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Wait... When did I miss a discussion about a giant seahorse?

I just found out my extended co workers youngest sister was murdered. Her son was killed in a car accident last year, around this exact same time. Idk how she will handle this. To top it all of, her sister (who does not live here) was murdered by her own son.

Tis the season.

That's awful about your co-worker. It's unfair how so many bad things just keep happening to the same person/family, you'd think one tragedy would be enough. One of my colleagues seems to move from one thing to the next, so sad.

I really do not know how she will hold up. She kept begging my boss to let her hear the 911's from her sons friends when he was killed in the accident. He keeps telling her no, but she still asks. She seems to think it will help. I think it will drive her crazy. She works in the medical field, so it's that morbid curiosity. Of corse no parent will ever get over that, but it is still very fresh. I hate this happened to her baby sister. Too much. It is sad, and at times it does seem like people are being hammered by tragedy.

So sorry you are getting hammered, Rou. I was trying to get a heads up on our weather report this morning and was relieved to see most forecasters think we will get hit with the heavy rain during the afternoon hours on tuesday, when it is too warm to snow. Rain coming up from the gulf with cold coming from the west or north can mean huge trouble for us. So far, it just looks like we will have sleet and ice on and off.

Snicker, snicker. A raccoon has people trapped in their car at a Christmas Tree Lot in town. It's apparently hungry and not remotely scared of people. I hate that some automatically assume that means it's sick or needs to be killed. If people feed them, they become bolder and less afraid of humans.

F*CK
I just learned that I have to be out of the office for the week after thanksgiving. Our workload is insane this time of year - and to be gone the entire week - the thought brings me close to tears!
(eta: and we're off after tomorrow, so any work that comes in after tomorrow thru Dec 9 will be waiting for me)

My boss suggested that I just come in to the office AFTER the work at the schools to catch up (really???)

I'm hoping that something changes bc this is ... just not okay

ETA: okay, God is good. I was just told "nevermind, we have someone else"
I offered to be a substitute if necessary (to keep good will alive!)

When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

^ It makes me nauseous, and not because of her poop color chart. Parents unfortunately need to pay attention to this stuff (PS-who has read about the smart diaper that comes with a pic driven iPhone app? wth.) but because they asked the doctor to compare their child to others and give her a letter grade. Unhealthy does not even begin to cover it.

*I kind of want to give them mom a hug, and a Xanax. She has confused overwhelming anxiety with healthy parenting.

There have been plenty of times where dispatchers have picked up the phone when their child was shot, or killed in a wreck, and they worked the call until responders arrived and left. That part of you still kicks in. You want to do all you can to help, but I always feel so deeply for them. Listening to someone die that you are not related to is hard enough.

And our hot weather's just beginning, albeit in fits and starts atm. I shall look forward to pictures of your snowfalls and be jealous.

I keep stumbling across all these articles tonight, which are helping me stay awake. This is from 2011. I... Oh my.

http://katdish.net/2011/08/pardon-me...nt-generation/

I can not believe those young adults, or the dad.

I believe I would have left them all completely behind.

ETA: hahano! Apparently they also tried to sue their mom because she went back to her maiden name after her divorce and it caused "emotional distress" due to confusion at school functions. Also because she did not send them care packages when they were in college, even though she helped pay their tuition. She should have sued for emotional distress after child birth.

I never needed to see this.

I do not need to go out on Black Friday (other than Petsmart, they have a little bed on sale that fits perfectly in Fin's kennel and a spare is always a good idea - not that he doesn't have 5 or 6 beds...)
