I told my boss there must be a technical issue that prevents him from making changes to our db. that issue would be him having read only rights. I wonder how that happened.

Lol at Perri

It is in the 20s here. My car was completely frozen yesterday so undrivable. It may still be frozen. Dallas usually doesn't get ice, just a few inches of snow once or twice a year. The roads don't get cleared off, so driving isn't recommended. Did I mention I moved from Phoenix? It is probably in the 70s now.

So I was invited by a group of friends to do breakfast/movie to celebrate a friend's birthday. Breakfast at 945. Movie at 11 . I rsvp that I'll be at the Movie.
I get a text at 1020 (10 minutes before I was leaving) to say "everyone got here late we haven't even ordered yet, I'll let you know the plan"
So now the plan is to go to a movie an hour later.
I'm annoyed by this. I got up at 530. I got out and did my stuff so I could make the movie at 11. I have some stuff to do this afternoon and that was a good time for me.
Now I can't decide to go or not. I realize it's an hour later not three hours later. Just. I hate plan changers.

Meeeeeeeeh. Meh, meh. I've got to get moving. Need to shower, go out, run a few errands, come back and clean, and then relax. Wish i had something fun to do tonight but I don't. Absolutely nothing going on this weekend, and I can't blame people. It's 45 but after a few days near or in the 70's, it feels like 20, and everything is a giant puddle. Break in the rain today, but 3 more days of heavy rain following.

Zzzzzzzzzz

Lets hope this works. I have 2 very annoying patches of dry scalp, next to my hair line. They are relatively small. I freaked out at first thinking it was dandruff. Wtf is this!?!? I have never had dandruff! I can't use dandruff shampoo! I had to once. It was all my friend had and it tried to eat my hair So, that crisis adverted, I went out and bought a Dr Bonner's peppermint leave in with tea tree, hemp, jojoba, coconut and avocado oil. Came home and washed with my tea tree shampoo, massaged in some jojoba and then used the LI. I'll wash it all out tomorrow.

So it shouldn't be a big deal to me that I can't wear anything weird to my nephew's concert tomorrow, yet the knowledge that I can't embarrass anyone makes me want to do it all the more.

This is the sick relationship I have with my family. And also why I cancel or simply refuse to attend most events. I can go weeks if not months without the need to wear a bear or a fox hat, but give me one family occasion, and the trigger is switched.

Gahhhhhh.

Can you wear something weird TO the event but remove it when you get there?

J'refuse! It's all or nothing. I'll just pretend to fit in, resenting it all the while. It's the easiest way, though it really bugs me. Why do I have to fit in? Why can't I be the aunt who doesn't fit in, and that's fine? If I was a stranger, they'd....oh, who knows what they'd do. The whole thing makes me feel bonkers.

Anyway.......

Every time I think it's a good idea to listen to Prairie Home Companion, I regret it.

^ I have always prided myself on being Auntie Weirdo. I always loved it when my nephews would look at me and say, "You look like you're running away to join the circus".

Well, thank you! That is a wonderful complement

I say go for it. Be weird or be square.

Giving my cats nip at 2:30 am... Probably not a wise decision, but hopefully funny.

I need to go to bed. This is going to be a pain in my butt turn around.

I am auntie weirdo in my family too. Not for clothing choices but just because I'm different. My brother continually teases me (sometimes not in a very fun way) and his three daughters were raised around that. The youngest, they used to tease and tell her she was just like me. (This is true, we're very alike). She's just recently (she's 22) figured out that it's not such a bad thing.

I'm an auntie weirdo too (and now a grandma weirdo), and I'm fine with that.
I think I've given myself a stomachache about it.

Auntie Weirdo's are the best!!! And one can never go wrong as a Grandma Weirdo

I just came across the strangest video when looking at flat irons for another thread. This girl had stick straight hair. I mean 150% stick straight, and she was using/comparing 2 different flat irons. Why? It looked the same when she was done, other than her ears stuck out through her hair even more on the Chi side. Unless dressing up as an Elf for Halloween, why would you want that?

Pointy ears have to really show when pretending to be an Elf. It's a nifty requirement.

Hopefully I get the boot off my foot tomorrow. In talking with a friend yesterday, she mentioned that another friend had said "well it's her own fault, she didn't do what the Dr told her and was wearing the wrong shoes, she kept wearing her cute ones"

This is totally incorrect. I've been wearing my ugly sensible shoes to work (with my orthotic inserts) and only tennis shoes on the weekend.

A. This person shouldn't go around repeating what other people tell her
B. I'm really mad at this other person passing judgment on this. The reason the Dr is using the boot is because I was doing what I was suppose to do and it wasn't enough

There's no way that I can think of to correct this person without being very messy (x told me that you told her blah blah)

But yeah it upsets me.
