I really do not know how my friend of 34 years and her partner have managed to foster (and work toward adopting) so many cute kids, but they have. 3 absolutely adorable kiddo's being raised by two incredible women. They have had up's and downs, heart stopping court moments where they were not sure if they would be able to keep the kids, and sighs of relief. I'm not sure what their court situations were over. It's really hard to tell. You wonder if it's politics due to sexual orientation, etc. Sometimes it's simply the other family. One of my other friends has been fostering one child for several years (again with her girlfriend). She was finally able to get custody last year. Her mom is an addict, she has never participated in rehab, she used her daughter to sell, she has keyed my friends car on numerous occasions, and blackmailed or attempted to blackmail them in the past. Anything for a penny. They refused to give into her demands, went to court, and after the girl took the stand and explained what life was like with her mom... She wont have to worry about going through that again. I am sure that was hard for her, especially with your mom being in the same small town, but I have never seen a kid so happy after that day in court.

i think it's totally worth it when you're planning a trip to the store.

which store is closer to you: Pittsburgh, Detroit or Cincinatti?

i can see where it would be a pain for Fifi having to go to Charlotte or Atlanta.

the regular website also shows you inventory, if you go in and select the item, you should be able to select "show availability" or something similar

Sometimes a break (from people, social media, work, the same routine, whatever) is just what the doctor ordered.

I can't believe the morons that I work for. How do these people with no common sense get into management positions. I can't believe that the company hasn't gone under. I hate my job.

^^^I know that feeling. Sometimes I'm astonished that the U.S. has done as well as it has because there seem to be many people in management who are clueless.

I hope your situation improves, even if it means taking a different job. We spend so much time at work - it really shouldn't be something we hate to do. Good luck.

I'm a little worried about Fin. He had a wee wee accident in the house last night. Very out of character. And, I've been decreasing his steroids (at higher doses they made him pee almost constantly but he's been stable now for months). Could have been a fluke but I don't like it (not in the "I'm mad at him"way but in it's bothersome). I've pulled out his pants for him to wear today when I'm at work and he'll wear them for the next few days so I can see if he's having real problems.

Mostly cushings disease is on my mind and one of the reasons I've been decreasing his steroids, hoping to get him off them completely.

^ Aw. I hope he is okay. Maybe he just had a moment and could not hold it. I hope so.

Still mind blown at the groups of people who became insulted over the Men On ... skits on In Living Color. Those were always one of my favorites, along with several of my friends who were gay (and hush hush about it) at that time. We're they poking fun? Yes, but that's what they did. It in no way meant they hated you. Absolutely no one was spared. They were very equal opportunity in that way. Fact remains, the inspiration came from David Alan Grier's time doing broadway musicals. He was backstage with several gay men and privy to several readings. If you have ever been backstage at a drag show or simply watched Ru Paul's Drag Race... You know it's true (in performance settings). Hell, it's an art form.

I know wishing people would lighten the eff up is simply that, wishing, but I still hope it will happen. They just continue to get worse. Perhaps they will melt down and explode soon.

thanks, guys.

I'm pretty sure (and crossing my fingers) that it is much more related to mommy being a worrier than him being not okay. I'll know when I get home today if he did okay or not.

thanks, I will. If he's had an accident again, I'll call the vet when I get home. If there's an issue in the night, I'll call in the morning.

Of course, I could go home to dry pants and Fin giving me the "why am I wearing these?" look.

I do love the Robin Williams voice over explaining why we write poetry and quoting Whitman's Leaves of the Grass, from Dead Poets Society, in the new iPad Air commercial. I just watched that movie a few months ago. I still love it as much as I did when I first saw it in 89.

Tear and sniff. Such a great and sad film.

^^ I thought that was RW, and it does evoke the movie. I bawl hysterically at the end every freaking time I watch it.

Ninja, I am trying to figure it out now. Small wrench has been thrown in the plans. but I think we will meet at my house and caravan from there. Everyone else lives downtown or Tremont, so my house makes sense.
