Our temps are actually dropping now and we have sleet and "snow" being reported around town. Not that it's good news but better that the predictions are accurate.

We have two days built into our calendar for make up days. Good Friday and Memorial Day. All the notes we had from our superintendent reminded us that we will have to give up those holidays if we closed (it was actually kind of snarky but whatever). I can't imagine how many days we'd need in our calendar if we weren't in Houston. (Although places that get this weather are better able to deal with it so they wouldn't be crippled like we are from a bit of freezing rain). And really, It's just a bit. I grew up in Europe and went to college in Indiana. I've seen real cold, snow, ice, etc.

Wow I'm really rambling. Lol

Plus if their kid got hurt you know they would get a lawyer in a heartbeat. In the past week 2 area parents called the local news station because substitute bus drivers made the stops early and 2 kids "had to stand outside in the cold for 30 min to an hour". Mind you, both kids had keys to their house and could go back inside. The news crew waited for a bus with the first kid, while his dad was somewhere calling the school and news. What is the point? Drive his butt to school if you're that worried about it.

Slow news day for sure.

We did have a school bus wreck this morning. Turned on it's side trying to take the kids back home.

Scrills, he probably made a wise decision.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Did anyone see the pictures of the rare Snow Rollers near Cleveland? How wild, and beautiful

Speaking of snow... I think this mess is finally moving out of my area. It snowed lightly for a couple hours, dumped from 12-4, and we had 3 more snow showers after that. The last was just before 11 pm. It looks like I have 1.5-2 inches. Maybe 3 on my road because it picked up snow a few hours before the yard now. I can see the moon now and I am glad this isht is done. My road needs a break but it won't get much of one. By the time this melts rain will move in on Saturday and Sunday

These are absolutely the oddest urinals I have ever seen, but quite funny

Still no sign of Mr. Smiley. I'm bracing myself for the worst. He's very old, and he's deaf. I've cared for him for 17.5 years.

I'm praying for him.

Started to think that things aren't going to go anywhere with the guy I'm dating so I dusted off my OK Cupid profile last night. I already have a date lined up. And this guy has some serious potential.
I think we need to help each other with online profiles - no one wants to date me!

---

I just made a haircut appointment with Paul. Paul is my Hair-God. He cut my hair for years and years (probably 10 or so), but he got very expensive (for me - over $100 a cut) and I moved further away from his salon so for the past 4-5 years I haven't seen him (he's cut my hair from super short pixie to long and curly - and every color under the rainbow). I finally decided that I was going to make an appt to see him in the fall - and found out they closed the Toni & Guy where I used to go. A couple of weeks ago I remembered that he also worked at another location, too - and I found him.
Saturday morning. Cannot wait. I'm driving an hour and skipping yoga for him.

eta: now I'm thinking "carp, what if my expectations are too high???"

I logged in to find 70 messages. Not a bad for the ego.

My profile is a little longer than I would like, but I like it. I tried to keep it light and a little bit funny

For example, my pet peeve: the feet of my male co-workers. I worked with a guy who cut his toe nails at work. Not fun seeing clipping fly over the cube wall

My problem was finding pictures. I don't have any pictures of myself that weren't in a foreign country. I didn't want to come off as a snob
