Say It. I Dare You.

^ They are. I have bought some that were painfully bright and several that are horribly dim. They do not have a good medium and the type of light they put out is no where near as good.

After reading the story about schools that called for fire departments and hazmat teams when kids have brought in old mercury thermometers (still in tact)... I have to wonder if they will do the same every time they change an energy efficient light bulb. THEY HAVE MERCURY! MERCURY!

Yawn. I was all awake and cheerful as I woke up and got ready for work. Now I am fading.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Well that was interesting. The bestie was filling me in on one of his long lost ex's. he dated this guy years ago and sometime last year he flipped out and started accusing my friend of spying on him, online. He was making threats to slash his tires. All kinds of stuff. He disappeared, came back and seemed more stable and fell off the map again. Turns out he was institutionalized for the second time and diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. He talked to my friend yesterday and seemed great. He was taking his meds. All was well. He calls him back today and accuses him of making a fake profile to spy on him in some gay chat room. He then proceeds to tell my friend about all the voices he misses. The voices in his head were the truth. He can not longer hear his dead grandmother, etc. I Feel bad for him. I do think this guy was probably borderline and pushed himself over the edge with heavy drug use the past few years. He went way off the rails. It sounds like he is already going off the meds and he just got out a few days ago. I don't think he will make it without strong out patient support and med control, and with the state of mental health, he will not get it.

One thing I did find interesting was how fast his mental state crumbles once he gets online. That is a major trigger for him. He had researched ways people could spy on you and was convinced that all of his friends were using equipment to reroute his laptop and read everything he typed. After he fell apart the first time, and pulled it halfway together again, he brought his LT to my friends house to show him that his location services did not work correctly and it was because someone was messing with him. My friend believed him because of his sincerity and I just told him to watch it. I've actually read several different studies and accounts of people having complete breakdowns after spending so much time online. Not sleeping. Etc. It is becoming more and more common. Add drugs to that and bingo! He is/was/probably will be again way too wired, in every sense.

I'm trying not to dwell on the fact that I learned for certain today that I was manipulated into leaving my job.

Sometimes the underhanded way in which some people act truly amazes me. These were people I liked. They gave me birthday presents. Told me stories and secrets. Saved toilet paper rolls for my dogs.

I think that someday when things are better I won't mind so much, but I feel like such a fool right now. I suspected it was possible, but I hated the idea enough to kid myself. How absolutely stupid I feel.

As for the other bad news, I would have tried to stop you, to the point of blocking your car, if I'd known what you were going to do. I'm mad and sad all over again. I know you couldn't cope I understand, I do! but not that. Not that. And now you're gone, so I can't even talk to you or yell or anything.

You are so much missed.

Oh, Claudine - I may be reading into your last post, but . I know about missing people.

As for the people who were underhanded and you were taken in - .

Karma (and all it's other forms), Claudine. I believe in it, even if it's sometimes slow. Keep your head up and try not to worry about it. I am sure you will look back at some point and realize they did you a favor. Even if it was done in a rather ****** up way.

Since watching the last episode of GoT, I have had something stuck in my head.

Sing a song of sixpence, pocket full of rye. Four and twenty black birds baked in a pie. When the pie was opened the birds began to sing. Wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king?

The king was in the counting house, counting out his money. The queen was in the parlor eating bread and honey. The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes, along came a black bird and snipped off her nose.

I can't believe I still remember that nursery rhyme/poem. Poor maid. That's about the way it goes, right? Lol.

I got to work an hour early to begin work on everything that came in on Friday when I was off (and over the weekend - Mondays are usually very busy for us). But, the application I need to use to do my job is not working.

So, I have a huge stack and can do nothing.
I'm sure there is a lesson in here somewhere about being in the moment, not stressing, just accepting what is - but mostly I WANT TO MAKE THIS PILE GO AWAY

I know I should not self medicate with food, and I really shouldn't encourage others to do it either.. but several of us are having a rough day, and so I bought a 4 pack of triple lemon cupcakes for us.

I am always amazed when people do full on glam makeup all the time. I'm talking false eyelashes, heavy contour and highlights, hair extensions... to go to Subway. Don't get me wrong, I think a lot of the looks turn out beautifully. Pretty makeup & hair! Very talented ladies who do quite an amazing transformation of the face but I only do false lashes on Halloween and I am not about to pull them or extra hair out to get a Sub (not that I need any).

I really don't understand people... why can't you be happy for others? Why can't you be satisfied with what you have?

There are 5 assistants who sit in close proximity to each other.. one received a very nice bouquet of flowers, but is (or at least seems to be) jealous of another who got a different type (and slightly bigger) arrangement.

Just be glad that your boss thought of you at all!
