I love your dress too, scrills. That's a perfect length for me and I can never, ever find them like that.

I love the dress, Scrills! I could not get the photo opened enough to really see it yesterday.

No. Just no and never, ever, ever.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

^ Two separates things, just to clarify.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

My oldest nephew finally graduated college today. He was out on his own right after he graduated HS and has mainly worked, taken several classes; gone to concerts, and worked some more until he decided what he wanted to do. Now if he can just decided on a particular location/ job in his field. He went into nuclear power, and I would rather he take jobs with the lowest radiation/contamination risk. Please and thank you. He did not get to graduate with his class because he had to work but such is life! I am proud of him. Now if his brother would get done with his edumacation... He's getting closer. Internships are next.

PS on that... He was so proud of himself during his last internship. He discovered a pocket of radiation in the plant that had been previously undetected. It makes me nervous as hell, period, but what can you say? The stories from the tsunami in Japan and Fukushima disaster got into head. There was no stopping him.

I often think of you when the birds sing, ninja. The good morning crew I hear on our 430 walk is quite amazing.

I was pretty amused.

TNB, that is funny. I'm constantly looking for my friends car in parking lots. Every time I talk to him I hear stories about twink action in the old Western Sizzler parking lot. Fitting. Very fitting.

I tried, I really tried, to like my BFF's new friend. The one who adopted a cat, neglected it, then gave it back. And who is now trying to keep a friend of hers from adopting another. As if she's any judge of caretaking abilities.

She's..........annoying. Loud. A bit dumb. The kind of person who automatically assumes that because I'm female and a writer that I must write children's books. And that I give a **** about her daughter's journal.

I feel bad — there's an element of juvenile competition in this, I suspect. In fact, the more she pushed, the more I withdrew, sitting at a distance with the dogs.

Her clothes were loud, and I hate the shape of her nose. Her makeup and toenail polish were garish. Tacky.

I feel bad. My friend is such a wonderful person who is so good to people, and yet I can't make the leap toward enduring this person.

I was polite, though. I was. I swear.

You don't HAVE to like her. You may have to spend time with her now and then (and by "have to" I mean possibly birthdays or something like that where not showing up may offend your bff).
I have friends who don't like each other. I have friends who refuse to see me if they have to "share" me with others (I only see her twice a year now bc it bugs the crap out of me)

And, I also have a friend who I get a little bit jealous (but this is not the right word) when she's made all of these new friends and I feel myself slipping further away. (Although in the past couple of years I've sort of come to grips with this and am actually glad for our evolving relationship as sometimes she's not very pleasant to be around and I'm learning to be where I enjoy being and not be where I think i SHOULD be, if that makes any sense)

Hugs to you because that feeling of distancing and sitting further away isn't nice. I'm glad you had the dogs

When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I swear I sometimes want to scream when I read about the "Ageism" studies done on children. Have you ever been told you are too young to do something like move the dining room table or join in on a conversation? (Really?? *Go ahead and move it all by yourself at 4, and be a valued part of this discussion about your knocked up 15 year old sister) You have to be 16 to drive... How does that make you feel? Oh how horrid. That term was coined for older people alone. There is a big difference in not being able to help move the dining room table and losing your job. You won't understand this until you are older.

Stupid kids We've all been there.
