I really hope this new baby is a tidier human being than his daddy or his sister. The thought of cleaning up after 3 messy people is enough to make me cry right now.

Sorry about the post. I did write an explanation, but then got the overwhelming urge to delete the whole thing.

I feel drained.

I had a good time this evening and I liked hanging out, but did you keep having to play game after game of cards and not leave until 11:00? Your three kids and my two kids were bouncing off the walls. It was way past all the kids' bedtimes, but there was no way my kids were going to bed with guests over, and it got a little crazy.

It's Sunday.

I haven't been paid; it's day two of a snowstorm; my back is sore from yesterday's shoveling, and the puppy chewed up my new electric blanket. The dryer's broken.

Woe is me.

I wish I could send Ninja Doggie some pie but I'm afraid only an empty tin and dirty fork would arrive.

I am so torn about what to cook. On the one hand, I am having such a craving for pupusas. On the other hand, I could really go for something nice and stewy, like brisket or some Texas-style chili. Then there's the desire to make porchetta. Mmm, crispy, crackly, juicy porchetta! And I could use the leftover to put into pupusa filling!

I love the way the chocolate shortbread I'm baking is filling up the apartment with its delicious aroma.

Oh heck yeah! Depending on what sort of spider it is, it can cause a ferocious wound (or worse). Where do you live, again? If you're in the South, West or Southwest, I'd call the vet.

Northeast or east too... My dog (was a puppy at the time..10 or 11 months) got bit by a brown recluse when we were living up in CT. He was ok, but it was scary and I'm glad I got him on antibiotics.

Congrats, Dad!

You've only been coaching the most successful baseball team in Tucson since the early 90's.... It's nice someone recognized that!

Really? Brown Recluse (Fiddleback) spiders were exactly what I was thinking about when I wrote the above post. They're more common in hot, dry climates. But I guess they're spreading (like other pests).
