Is this the same brother of whom you owe me pics of him on the scooter?^

I was just thinking about that over the weekend. I borrowed someone's truck to go to Newbury and thought of the drive back from picking up the scooter.

YES!!! Wasn't that super weird?!?!?!?!? I should go take some pictures. I have my stalker lens so we wouldn't even have to be on their property

I went to Newbury to buy some lockers I found on Craigslist. The plan is so something like this in my bedroom (which I painted this weekend)

Dear left foot,
I understand that we have been very inactive recently, but my back has been fixed and it's time to get back to normal. Unfortunately, the doctor said the only physical activity I can do is walk, so yes, we will be walking a lot more than normal. No, those two blisters are not going to change my mind- that's what band aids are for. So please get over it and try to cooperate. Thank you.

I was going to say, "Newbury?" but I figured you must have a good reason for going there. I consider it the crazy cousin of the county.

It is that time of year. The part time residents are making their way in for the summer and ringing the phones in my office off the hook for important things like... I don't know how to turn the main water supply to my house on. I'm pretty sure that is a personal problem, and a rather embarrassing one at that.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Why are Turkey Vultures so damn ugly? I can't think of an uglier bird.

Put that thing back in! It's not done yet.

I have had a stand off with 4 of them every time I have gone out or came home over the past week. They will buck up on you. Blaaaah! Make me move. No, I'll just wait.

my mother's husband has always been a raging narcissist, so i guess i shouldn't be surprized that even at the age of 90, in the last stages of Alzheimer's disease, he has found a way to become the centre of attention.

my Nana has been planning a family reunion for a few months. ALL of my aunts and uncles are going to be there, a substantial number of grandchildren, and at least 3 great-grandchildren. we are all supposed to gather at the cottage this weekend.

mother's husband picked last night to decide that it might be time to leave this earthly plain. she has been at the hospital with him all night. no news yet, but, it doesn't look good. mom's youngest sister said to me on Saturday night that she hoped he wouldn't pick this week to die and ruin the whole thing for mom... it looks like that is exactly what is going to happen.

I just found out my friends som failed several classes but still graduated high school via a bride program. Not sure what I think about that. Granted, in my day, teachers could hold you back for several years. I knew several 8th graders with their drivers licenses and full facial hair. I can't say I was fond of that tactic, especially considering that the majority had learning disabilities that were unknown (or not widely known, looked for or cared about) at that time. The almost 17 year old in my 8th grade class was autistic. They just let him roam the halls all day and he came in for math class so he could flaunt his skills and call the rest of us dumb. That said, I can't really agree with letting them slide either. I know this boy. He is smart. He just does not care and has never faced consequences for his actions. He's too busy getting messed up and staying up until 3 am on school nights.

*You know, I often wonder what happened to the guy in my class. He caught a lot of hell from people, not that it was not deserved on occasion. It was. He could be an as*hole. He had a particular pacing schedule every day. It was a small school but he went to one end of the hall, stopped at both water fountains, and went into the boys bathroom on his return trip. He often stopped, looked in the window, and made faces at us. Haha. Then he came in and insulted you for an hour. That's the only time he talked to anyone. Still, he was treated like dirt by several of the teachers. My mom once read to him and she was told to not even bother. That killed her. We all knew his home situation, too. Poverty does not even begin to cut it. No running water. No electricity. Farm animals lived inside the house and often kicked out doors and windows. Bad... If he is anything like his mom, who he was raised to believe is his Aunt, he's doing okay. She's a very quite but sweet person and would not flinch while working 5 jobs. She was unfortunately the only one in the family who worked.

They seem to have gone from one extreme to the other sometime after I graduated. :-/

Sigh. Wish I could have gone to his graduation anyway. I was going to but a co worker had a death in the family and I could not come in a bit late.

Deep breath, deep breath.. correction isn't criticism, just because you can, and they would like you to, improve doesn't mean you are bad. Deep breath.

Whichever member mentioned really enjoying the movie "Philomena" has baffled me. I thought it was an incredibly distressing, sad, and tragic story.
