Just a blowout. I usually get one the week before my color. The blowout helps my colorist deal with my curly hair

I am having a hard time getting turned around for day shifts.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

It's early. I read the above as "in having a hard time getting turned on working the day shift"

Sent from my SPH-L720 using CurlTalk App

ETA: as I was posting these, my phone rang and it was the salon's manager. Long story short, they are giving me my next blowout for free and putting me with someone who is used to handling my hair type. WOOHOO!!!!

I wonder if my brothers remember how much trouble I used to get them in when I played in the mud. I still remember that well. My mom was getting sick of me jumping in a giant mud hole in our yard one incredibly rainy spring. I did it after I got off the bus, before she came home I was told I could not do that anymore! I was ruining my clothes. So I came in after school, put my bathing suit on under my clothes, went outside, took my clothes off, jumped in, rolled around, got out, let myself dry (kind of), put my clothes back on, went inside, and told my brothers I fell in... That didn't go over well with anyone.

I liked to pretend I was Rambo. It couldn't be helped.

Hee. Every time I go straight, I do miss my girls. but sometimes a girl needs a change. plus, I go straight to make it easier on my colorist. I have a color appointment in a couple of days.

My friend and neighbor (who I'm mad at) is on some kind of weed trimming binge. She's making her way up the street with her weed whacker, going after everyone's ditch. I have some kind of very hardy bamboo in mine, and a hissy is going to be pitched if she tries anything.

Well at least I got a free blowout and a curling wand lesson out of the deal. :-)

my stepfather died this morning.

mom seems to be doing okay - pretty sure she said her goodbyes and got it out of her system the other night. she has said that we will all still go to the family reunion this weekend. it will probably be better for her to be surrounded by her siblings.

considering that my Aunt Marlene lost her mother last week, my cousins and i will have two mothers to look after - at least we'll have help from everyone else.

oh Rou, I'm sorry to hear of his passing but I am very glad that your mother has decided to go to the reunion - it WILL do her good to be there.
hugs.

I am so proud of my bestie. I know you have heard me talk-rant about him having a hard time with his depression. He seemed to be doing okay for a little while but he hit another down a few weeks ago and has cried for 2 weeks straight. I have begged him to talk to a doctor for over a year now. I have asked him repeatedly to at least tell his doc about his depression. He is on Topamax and I did quite a bit of reading about the fairly high risk of increasing depression while taking this med. I've noticed that he seems to get much worse when he is on it, and the warning advises to contact your doc, asap, if you experience depression while on it. He has completely blown me off during the last year. Said he would talk to his doc but would not. Kept telling me he could not take anti depressants while on topamax, which is not true. He gets defensive and shuts down. Well, he texted me last week and said some stuff that really worried me. I begged him to talk to his doc again, he bi*ched at me for blowing him off. I wasn't. He always has my ears but I can't give him the help he needs. He finally listened and went to see his doc a few days ago. If he talked to her the way he talked to me I fully understand her concerned and suggestions she made to him. He won't listen of course, but he is still seeking help. I am just so glad he actually managed to open up to her.

Maybe now he will stop freaking out at every turn. No matter what decision he makes, he hates it and stresses himself into a frenzy. He wants to quit work again. Been there, done that. He quit because he was too stressed and couldn't take it and stressed the whole time because he didn't have a job, even though he had saved enough to be okay for 4 months. He's only been back a few months. He just added 2 new bills. Ugh. Not looking forward to that. Lol
