I can not find the What's for Dinner? Thread anywhere. Granted my service is in and out today and my app is slow. I'll just post here. I am getting ready to make a small steak, baked steak fries, roasted peppers/zucchini/cherry tomatoes, and brussels sprouts.

Get in my belly!

Yes it is, but better late than never

Yawn and sigh. I slept like a log last night but could have used a few extra hours. I've just got to make it through the next couple of days... I ended up taking a little time off at the end of this stretch. My oldest nephew finally got a few days off in a row and he & is brother are coming to visit! I have not seen them since Christmas, I think.

I don't know if this is appropriate or not. I hope that must of you know me well enough to know I wouldn't want to offend anyone or come off as rude.

This is a fundraiser for a friend of mine who has recently been matched with a service dog. If any if you are so inclined, any donation helps.

Gina is about 45 years old and was exposed to some chemicals in a lab in her early 20s. She went from being an Olympic hopeful in martial arts to completely unable to walk, etc. She had to relearn everything. She bounced back for a few years but things have been getting bad the past couple of years with seizures, migraines and a tumor on her pituitary gland. She is one of the most inspiring people I know.

She's week one into her training with Muzzy and already Muzzy is alerting her and woke her in the middle of the night when she was having a seizure (or I guess when Gina came to Muzzy was licking her face). Muzzy will also be trained to alert first responders and LET THEM IN in case Gina is unable.

My co workers were just laughing hysterically at me as I screamed into the phone. It's not easy trying to tell a 90 year old woman that her power will be out for some time as she talks over you, keeps saying she can't hear you, and keeps insisting that she can not call anyone from her cell phone... After she just called you.

I had a very unnerving experience with someone with a very flat affect today. The first thing I noticed about her was her poofy hair........I am dead sure she straightened.
----------------------------------
Then later, I had a very funny experience with two young boys/adolescents.

Me: Why do I have to see your underwear? Every time I see you, I see your underpants.

Kid One: It's about my race and my culture as a black man. (Slaps his chest.) If I want to have money and power, then I need to express that by showing my underwear. If I want to be a rapper, I have to show my underwear.

Me: Well, I need more money and power. How come I don't get to show my underpants?

Other Boy: Man, I don't want to see that.

Me: Oh, I'm not going to show you my underwear.

First Kid: It's my right to express myself!

Me: Weren't you wearing glitter boots the last time I saw you?

Other Boy: Can I have one of your dogs?

First Kid: Preach!

Me: Okay, I'm leaving. (Dogs and I prepare to walk away.)

Other Boy: That lady was going to show us her underwear!

First Kid: Nah — she's too old for that.

Me while walking away: furrowing brow; trying to remember whether I'm wearing Wonder Woman or Super Girl patterned underpants today.

I love the family from India that bought a business close to my house. How are you today, Dear? You look tired. Are you tired, Dear? Haha. Yes, Yes I am.

I love hearing someone say dear with sincerity. I'm used to sneers on faces and a sarcastic tone. Baby, Doll, Sugar, Sweetie, Sweetness, Miss or Ma'am all have far more sincerity points in the south. Dear is full of contempt.

So I'm a bum. I took tomorrow off too. Mini break. Stuff going on. Family time is needed.

Mini break and family time needed are not always the same thing. Please made sure you take some time for you.

You many remember me mentioning my mom seeing her favorite brother over the winter, and being upset. He has dementia, was sun downing often, becoming aggressive and they had to but him on heavy medication. Now he hardly speaks and rarely knows who people are. Well, his long time doc recommended that he be evaluated by Hospice this week. It has completely taken her by surprise. We are going to go visit him.
