Why are yoghurt adverts always aimed at women? 😟 I don't get it

Also I know a lot of men who eat yoghurt however the person who buys them in the household is normally a woman.

I know one man who eats yogurt. One. My best friend. That is it.

On the other hand I know many women, single and married/with kids and with out who eat yogurt. I know things like Go-Gurt have been responsible for more kids eating it now, in the US. Kids eating yogurt was a rare occurrence when I was growing up. I went to one party where a parent had yogurt cups for kids, but I do remember when the fruit blends became popular. Of course in those situations a parent will be picking it up from the store and they will be marketing to whoever uses the check or debit.

I do remember reading men use roughly 50% more cash than women in stores one time. They are more likely to use it than debit or check. I believe it. I always hear guys fussing about their children or spouse not keeping cash on hand and using debit. Lol

My dad bought about 20 individual yoghurts today, he's silly.

Another funny thing about the advertising is that they try to dress up yoghurts as something luxurious or fancy. Like a woman is having all her girlfriends over for a dinner party, what is for dessert? They ask, as she brings out little pots of 0% fat greek yoghurt. I've seen several like this. I'm pretty sure that if someone served me yoghurt for dessert at a dinner party I'd be pretty disappointed.

The Greek Yogurt commercials here are often pushed as something luxurious too. Mmmm, creamy. I would be pretty disappointed in that finishing up a dinner party too. Cheesecake can make your eyes roll back in your head. Yogurt, not so much, unless it's mocha latte.

I want a big or unusual finish to a dinner party. Yoghurt is every day.

Bring me cake! Profiteroles! Extraordinary ice cream of which I can take one taste.

I'll also eat boxed yellow cake, if it's chocolate-frosted.

We will meet somewhere between an upset stomach and ecstasy.

I rarely pay attention to food commercials because I can't think of the last time that I saw one and thought... Oooh, I have to have that. I have never had a spoonful of Greek Yogurt in my mouth. I buy Stonyfield. The health food store was the only place that sold it at the time, it took years to get it on grocery store shelves and there were no commercials for it. The GS only had fruit filled stuff. I would rather add my own to plain or vanilla. Commercials mainly just make me laugh or wonder what they were thinking. I buy item because I already like it/know it works or because I have read about or seen it used in a recipe and want to try it.

This blog cracked me up a little. This person came back and did updates to prove that 10 other people with Italian Heritage were upset with it, and therefore they were not alone in their feelings. Still, all the commenters said... Calm down! Some people are like this. *Italians are not the only one with this stereotype. Not by a long shot* Just look at you getting all hot and bothered over a commercial. It's just an exaggeration and does not oppress anyone.

^ It is hard to believe that cereal is 50 years old. Cereal commercials were huge when I was a kid, just ask Mikey. Always hated it, though. Who wants little marshmallows that could chip a tooth? Captain Crunch could take 3 layers of skin off your mouth.

I swear if there was a way of pulling my scalp off my head I would do it. Itch, itch, itch. Bloody psoriasis. I can't remember the last time it was this bad for this length of time.

I don't think I mentioned, he decided against proceeding with his latest crush. His hypochondriac started coming out about other things and he stopped and asked himself why he thought he could handle this. I am glad he did, before he freaked out and panicked. He needed to ask why he was getting off his depression medication because he no longer wanted to take multiple pills, while simultaneously researching continuous drug therapy needed to be in a relationship with this new crush, and deciding that he would forgo the drug therapy for love if he could not get it. All while researching preventative measure for Ebola, because that was the greatest threat at this time. "I'm not exactly acting sane am I?" No not really, but that's okay.

ETA: Really wish he would not have gotten on forums and read a bunch of negatives about his meds. Within 2 days he started having every negative side effect he read about, he was only on them for 2 weeks tops, and he is still having side effects weeks later. It took him years to take them because he was convinced he could not do anti depression on top of anti seizure meds, due to what he read in prescription forums.

I do NOT want to go back to school. I do NOT want to deal with this roommate, who I know is a slob. I do NOT want to spend a ton of money on project supplies. And I haven't washed and set my hair yet. Ugh -.-

This sort of thing gives me great anxiety. I think I have said before that I am naturally quite introverted and that these sorts of things really stress me out.

The good news is that this year my parents will let me have my car on campus! So I can go home whenever I want, without burdening them. Also, I don't think I'll have any class on Friday. Which is great.

The biggest thing I'm worried about is this roommate. My family helped me clean the apartment, because she left it a mess. Hair everywhere, food crumbs on the floor, dirty sink, dirty tub. I can't stand that! A dirty bathroom is one of the most stressful things for me. I don't care to be her friend, and I have never met her, but I need her to know that I'm serious when I say the apartment must maintain an element of cleanliness.
