I had a hard time after I moved back from Italy and I kept "mispronouncing" marinara. I kept saying it the Italian way, and people kept correcting me.

Kiva! Microfinance works.

But, the drop sounds more soft over there as opposed to over here. I can't really describe it well, but I hear the difference between a southern Italian and an American just ignoring the e.

But, hey, if she wants to get all snooty about "proper" Italian, then she should speak "proper" Italian.

Grrrrr!

G-dammit people, don't let your aggressive dogs roam free and then blame ME when they attack my dog and he responds! Yes, I zap him (which hurts at high voltage), which stops the interaction, and yes, he is on a leash, insured, and fully vetted and tagged. Your dogs are not.

I'm f-ing sick of hearing you puzzle over why your dogs' electronic collars don't work. They just don't; your dogs are aggressive; you're at fault.

I feel awful when there are episodes like this, yet I hear from others that they have trouble with your pets, too. So, PLEASE, do something, already, dammit!

And your yard looks like isht, too.

Sadly the amount of hypocrites at the Love Music Hate Racism concert today doesn't surprise me. I really hope the BNP don't get in in my area next Thursday, but the chances are high. Hopefully today raised some awareness of what it will mean for so many people if they do.

Public apology to anyone who I may have offended, pissed off, or bored to death. Never my intent in any post to be mean, snarky, or to be an attention seeker. I did and do have some issues in my life that tend to eek out everywhere when I don't deal with them. I want to shout out my thanks for the support I've received here. This board has actually helped me IRL. I'm growing and becoming more of the person I was meant to be and less of the person I was becoming. It's in my nature to be smart, funny, supportive, and *gasp* not ignorant. I think I've acted the way I have in the past due to nuture/lack of through my youth. But it's waaaay past time to let those go and get beyond. My intent is to be able to help and counsel others and I will be going back to school soon to be a nutritionist (hence all the food questions) and I ask a lot of questions to see how people will react and how they think. I like to understand why people are they way they are.

Not a board suicide, not a good bye just an acknowledgement and a thank you.

No need to reply. Just wanted to get his out.

Growing pains h-u-r-t! But growth rocks.
It's not your hair.
Stop acting like it's such a burden on you.
Before today, you haven't helped me with it since December.
I buy the majority of my products. And what you do buy is around 1-3$ and that happens less than once a month.
I don't want a "curly perm" or a texlax.
So stop "considering" it. You kept complaining about how much the relaxer cost before and made me go natural. This costs more and now I don't even have a choice about it. Really? That's bull.
I like my hair just the way it is.
I know it's so horrible that I actually like the way I look at the moment, especially since I'm a teen girl.
No, my curls dont need to always be defined.
Don't say being mixed leaves you stuck with "that". That's just ignorant.
No, I don't want it straight for every "special occasion" nor do I want it straight for the dance next month.
I've had four "special occasions" since my hairs last been straightened, but you wouldn't know that since all that matters right now to you is your school work.
Quite frankly, I don't care if you don't like my hair.
If you don't like it, then you can do it every morning.
Until then, leave it be.
Just like Rina said, if you're not the one doing it, don't worry about it.

I wonder what they hell was going on in Times SQ, I've never seen so many blocks locked down and barricaded. I've also haven't seen that many police, snipers, fire fighters, etc all at once. I did notice a lot of smoke but don't know where it was coming from. I love how people were just standing around looking on as if it was a show. I took my roomie and decided to walk to 6th ave and a lot of things were still barricaded so we walked to 59th st and caught the train there, if something was gonna go down I didn't want to be there when it did! People are stupid sometimes, well most of the time.
Turtles: omg please don't put that in your moo moo

Nej: too late... moo moo has been infiltrated.

I found the most perfect pair of beautiful suede shoes for half off at Nordstroms. Too bad I'm vegan and out of a job. Even if I had the money I probably wouldn't have gotten them.
