I hate it when you wear hats. I'm sorry, but you just don't look good in them. I swear, you act differently when you wear hats! And it annoys me!

Wow. You don't happen to go to Bob Jones University, do you?

I had a student write a paper that argued that Fox News was truly "fair and balanced" (which had nothing to do with the assignment!), but that was as close as it's come for me.

I'm so tired of being stood up, even when the reasons are perfectly legitimate. It's just draining to get all excited about seeing you and then nothing.

Today is a day when I fear I'm going to be alone forever. Other days, I'm not sure how much I mind.

This is me for the last three days straight.

It would bring me a fairly large nugget of joy if we could all agree to call these puppy updates "pupdates."

Claude is sick. It started this morning, and got worse throughout the day. Now, after cleaning up, I'm really worried.

This dog kept me going when nothing else could. Knowing no one else would care for him, and that I'd never see him again if I kept smoking, and not eating. So I stopped smoking, and started eating again. He was always near me, no matter what I did: working, cleaning, reading, sobbing.

He sleeps beside me every night, some part of him touching me, no matter what. I feel like my heart would burst like an over-filled balloon without him.

Thanks, S.

I've got a pretty strong attachment going, obviously.

But I'm glad you didn't get stood up

(((ninja))) I hope your dog is feeling better!

Why do my in-laws have to be so high maintenance? Seriously, every minor thing is a crisis. Oy.

Thanks, all.

Sorry his pic came out so big and corny.

He's now eating plain yoghurt and taking anti-diarrhea pills. We slept with a towel beneath us.

nyn, sorry too about your in-laws. What a pain.

The in-laws are very nice, honestly. They're generous and so good with the kiddos. It's just that every minor little incident turns into a major to-do with them. It's exhausting after a while.

That kind of stuff is exhausting.

Is that what people mean by "drama"?

I believe so.

The funny part is that when DH and his sister get around their parents, they, too, get sucked into the drama. Normally, they're pretty drama-free; however, the whole family gets so caught up in trying to keep each other happy that they all stress each other out. They can't just relax and enjoy each other's company. They all have to be doing something all the time, then they fret that someone's not having a good time, even when there's no reason to think so. This, of course, leads to them NOT having a good time because they're all so worried and stressed. It's bizzare to me.

Dude! You left me little notes inviting me out, you follow up on every dog walking invite, and want to help me with maintaining my house, but you can't walk a puppy by yourself? The same one you've already walked while with me? Even when you know my other dog is sick and I need the help?

Deal breaker!
