I'm needing a good sympathy boink...
I refuse to believe that Alton Brown could do anything for evil!

in the paula deen thread - apparently he is spokesperson for Cargill and the corrupt salt industry. here is a link from the thread:

personally, I could NEVER boycott Alton Brown, no matter what he does...
I wish I was my mom or anyone who doesn't have to have a job. I'm seriously thinking about moving back in w/my parents temporarily and trying to get some sort of SSI or something. People who seem a lot healthier and more mentally stable than me get it so why not me? Where is mine for a change?

I hate how my life revolves around my job and almost every Wednesday I go through the same old routine of deliberating if I should quit or not. I can't stand the boss' daughter. I know she has problems and if her dad didn't employ her, she wouldn't have a job, but she really shouldn't be working if she can't handle things w/o making everyone else miserable. I know eventually it is going to make me sick staying here, but I don't know what else I would do. There is not a lot out there and I'm having such a tough time lately with my mental/physical health that I don't want to jump into something else. It's not fair that other people at least have something to look forward to in their lives while all my life is is a job, a BAD job at that.

Oh, boy, have I EVER been where you are...for the first 10 years after I graduated from college, in fact. I won't go into all the long, drawn-out details, but trust me when I say I was so miserable that I was envious of homeless people I would see on my way to work. That's some crazy ish right there. My unhappiness permeated every corner of my life and caused me to do things I should have never done. When I finally did land a position I was perfectly satisfied with, fate stepped in and snatched it from me. Now, my profession has evolved in such a way that it's nearly impossible for me to find work. Not to mention the fallout from the damned recession.

I don't know how old you are or what your immediate options are, but you need to rationally think your way out of this situation and don't make any hasty decisions. Is it possible for you to go (back) to school and follow a new career path? Do you have any hobbies or interests that could be translated into a career--this is crucial. Would you be willing to relocate to start a new career/life? Is there anyone you can talk to whose opinion you respect?

Don't dwell on the perceived "unfairness" of it all. That's wasted energy. I know...I wasted a lot of energy that way. You don't know everyone else's situations. Things are not always as they seem. My patients always thought I loved my job--even when I was at my most miserable. Might there be more going on than simple job dissatisfaction? SSI doesn't provide for much quality of life. Are you willing to sacrifice quality of life for a few bucks?

I don't know if any of this helps. I wish you all the best.

you know what's awkward? when you're joking and the other person doesn't realize it. that's AWKWARD.

and since 95% of the time I'm being sarcastic without people realizing, this happens to me far too often.
There is absolutely nothing I can do but wait. I have never felt so helpless.

You should be in the car when one is happening...

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

But the recommendation for the vast majority of Americans children, adults of middle age or older, all blacks and anyone with hypertension is less than 1,500 milligrams a day.
Not that people pay much attention to those nutrition tables anyway.

So I finally call you people and you tell me that being chained to a car with no food or water is adequate shelter and a potential burn is a flea issue? Whatever. I hate this f*cking city and these sh*tty neighbors. They are the plague of the neighborhood.

Sigh.....another day, more cat vomit to clean up.

Poor kitty.

I've been worrying all day about this because these neighbors are confrontational and have started arguments and made threats to us and other neighbors over little things like this before.
