I ordered something and selected a shipping option that would have the package at my place by next Tuesday at the earliest. Instead, it got there overnight -- today, which would've been fine, except I'm out of town and won't be back until Friday afternoon or night.

UPS left the package outside, on the concrete slab in front of my door. You know, exposed to the wind and snow. I've seen packages blown all over the place near my apartment -- SO has fetched them for other people and put them back by the right door -- and if mine ends up in the canal behind my apartment, I'm going to be PISSED. It weighs a pound, so there's really no way it's going to stay put till Friday night.

I called UPS to ask why they wouldn't leave something in the office instead of outside in the elements, and they said if there's no signature requirement, it's left at the door. Now here's the thing: Even if a package requires a signature, and I've gotten some that did, the driver never rings the bell, just leaves it. In the rain. UPS said that if the package blows away and I never see it again, it's not their responsibility.

I left a message on the office's answering machine. Maybe someone will have time to go track it down for me tomorrow.

My take on Toddlers and Tiaras: those kids are crazy!! Their moms are crazy!! Danielle is either totally phony and mugging for the camera or she's the most arrogant kid I've ever seen. She's not that cute or talented and she needs new eyebrows. She probably has no friends and she'll have some sort of breakdown by the time she's 15.

Four year old Makenzie cracked me up. I'd probably go nuts if I were her mother. But for some reason I think she'll grow out of her personality.

Mom with the seven kids and the rich husband, you're pathetic. Spending $250,000 on your twin 1 yo daughters is obscene. They can't walk, talk or do much of anything but cry. How they won anything, including the grand prize, is beyond me.

Lastly, this is the second ep I've seen. In both eps, their coverage of any kid with brown skin lasted maybe a nanosecond.

My guess...the Obama/Vick comment, which has the conservative-hate-machine creaming their jeans.


ETA: Ninja, is it Tucker Carlson's comment you are agreeing with...the statement where Carlson said Vick should have been executed for his crime?

In other news, I cheated death the other day.. a pizza delivery driver hit my bike while I was riding home from work. I fell on my face, busted my nose and have a black eye, but I'm alive.. I could have been blinded, had my brains splattered all over the road or worse.
