I thought I looked good, nay, great dressed in all Black. But tonight I looked more like a pantomime. Or like I should be vogue dancing in a German discotheque.

The violins, the lyrics . . . too beautiful.

Why is it that some people just go bat **** insane when you ask them questions?
Why do they feel it's ok to curse and scream at you? And when you try to explain to them they've misunderstood you, they refuse listen, because they apparently are still so pissed at you for something you never said or implied.
Why can't some people just take a step back and see what's going on?
Why can't they let go of their initial impression, when they were completely wrong?
Why is it that some people can't think in terms other than black and white, unable to understand that there are many shades of grey?

How would you handle people like this?
Would you try and explain what you meant time and again?
Or would you just give up to let them wallow in their own ignorance?

Me too. Especially if they're asking a billion meaningless questions. Like, really. You can see I've had a really long day... Do you really need to know what I had for lunch? Or what my plans are for tomorrow? Or what I'm watching on tv?

This situation is an inconvenience at worst for me but you're acting like I just started a war. You are unreasonably pissed off over something pretty minor. I don't understand why you couldn't REMIND ME to look for your phone if you want me to bring it to you. Just because you mentioned it earlier this week, that doesn't mean I'm going to remember.

It's 11:10 a.m., and I'm on my second hot dog today because I need the sodium. At least they're the low-cal kind.

I am truly on cloud 9 right now.

I coud go on and on about him...
And on...
And on...

But I won't bother y'all with all that stuff. Just wanted to share my joy.
I just saw this and had to respond. The odds are against you and everyone else will probably tell you it isn't worth the work, but it can be. And against the odds, it can work. My husband and I were LD for almost five years. And now we're married! The one piece of advice I'd give you is this: Make time for each other. If that means you have to put "Call SO" on your calendar every day at a certain time, do it.
Thanks so much for your response. We do talk on the phone with each other almost every night. We kept in touch as friends while he was on the other side of the world for 4 months, and now he is at least in the same time zone as me so things are improving.

Listen, mean older lady, I was trying to be polite, and I know by your expression, that you did not, in fact, understand me. So you could have been nicer when I tried again to explain. I was only being civil.

Sheesh.

I thought we agreed that we were just going to do something for your birthday tomorrow, because I work tonight? Now you're suggesting that we do something tonight, and I look like the bad guy. This is always how it is, I'm always the bad guy. I understand, it's your birthday... I'd like to be with you. But honestly, tomorrow would just work out so much better. Why is that so horrible? Now I feel like I have to hurry up and wrap your gift before I go to work. And that's never good. I have a hard enough time wrapping gifts when I have plenty of time to spare.
