I'm guessing phone. My context clues skills got quite the workout while looking around.

Eh, you're just a regular old run-of-the-mill *****. Bitter. Annoying. Ugh.
Trust me, I love a good sassy, classy *****. But that ain't you.

It's from texting, right? And keying stuff into sites on a smart phone?
I don't understand it either, but it reminds me a lot of shorthand, which used to be [still is?] a valued skill.
I dunno. I would be wary of underestimating it as a form of communication. I can't text as fast as most of today's youth, that's for sure!

I loved learning shorthand! It was my only all female class besides gym, and instead of feeling demeaning, it was fun as hell. We used to have timed races. It was great.

Fiery, thanks for clarifying. I wouldn't have guessed that. I was thinking more along the lines of P-Funk, as in Parliament-Funkadelic.

I guess. I very rarely use any kind of shorthand except for the occasional "LOL" and the smilies. Once again, I would not be happy with my daughter if she ever thinks that anything like the above is an acceptable way to spell.

Partially can't...but mostly don't want. Hate to words like "finna" "tryna" "boutta" etc., actually spelled out--especially by people who weren't raised speaking that way. Bad enough to hear them used verbally. And when did ` become an apostrophe? I see it everywhere now.

Could it be that my luck is changing here in the 11th hour? Please, please...before it's too late.

I see what you're doing; stop it. If I see it, certainly others can see it, too.

Hah!
I knew, knew you'd do the same thing.
That's okay. It proves my instincts are getting better, plus it cheered me up enough at the time.

Something nice happened yesterday. I was turning onto the street where I had someone to interview for work, when a flock of low flying birds surrounded my car for a long moment. There was sensory motion everywhere: wings, the sound of displaced wind, the occasional cry of one of the moving crowd. It was....lovely, and it gladdened my heart.

Decisions decisions:
I've been given some grapefruits. My first thought was a grapefruit and mint granita. I just wonder if anyone's going to get excited about a cold icy dessert right now.
Then I thought grapefruit curd and grapefruit and candied ginger financiers.
I've got a few salad ideas, but they don't take care of all of them either.
Terrine of grapefruit and star anise (or rose) red wine gelee and vanilla (or rose) yogurt panna cotta. I'm thinking this just based on how cool it is to make and look at.
Citrus cakes with sugar crusts.
Citrus baba au rhum with grapefruit syrup.
Bah, I resent being given such a bounty for it throws a monkey wrench into my baking plans!

Huh? I didn't notice. Borrow away --- I didn't trademark the custom. Happy to share.
I was talking about a dumb guy I know, who acted predictably.

Oh, ok...I didn't think you were talking about me, but reading that did make me realize I had "borrowed" something (in my mind) and should be polite about it.

It's not texting, some write like that for texting but also write like that on FB. I call it idiot speak, I don't get why kids these days write like that, it takes much more effort to write like that or "LiKe Th!s", I also don't get why they replace G's with Q's. I get writings pics instead of pictures but piktuurs? WTF
I understand what that person wrote, took me a min or two longer than reading normal stuff but um yea, I don't get this trend and it should die.

Thanks, Saria! I'm crossing everything I can cross and trying to ignore the fact that it's not a position to which I would have normally even given a second look because it's almost an hour's drive away. I hope that doesn't come across in the interview...it did come across in my last interview...rather loudly, apparently.

Yeah, see, I get texting in "shorthand" or "Internet speak" because you have a character limit, and I also have a limited texting plan, so I need to be succinct about it. Also, it hurts my fingertips after awhile typing on my little BlackBerry keys. But that stuff isn't even in that category. I concur with "idiot speak" and that it takes much more effort to do all that.
Oh, I see another thought separator user.
