Kayb, sometimes we just need to take a moment to contemplate the beauty of Dennis Oh.

To the bold: I know that feeling well. To the London School of Economics: I hate you. You are the worst job I ever had in my many years of administrative employment. That includes my first non-admin jobs at Druxy's Deli and my second at Famous Players Theatre.

OT: I love your siggie Eche428! Are you an April baby too? Congrats!!!!
Thanks, FeralFeminista. I'm a November baby. Sorry you're in a stink-o job too!

This also reminds me that I need to make a down payment for my CSA.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

The cashier at Famous Footwear entered my city/state/zip code completely wrong, and now my shoes are stuck at a UPS location in Thornburg, PA (never heard of it lol). I told her the address like 5 times, no lie. And the one she entered sounds nothing like my actual address. So I called, because my UPS tracking page said to contact the seller to give them the right address... Right, well, silly me thought they might be able to contact UPS or something ridiculous like that. Wrong. I have to wait another week for a new pair of shoes.

HALF THE REASON why I got these shoes was so that I could have them for my trip to California on Saturday. I want to smash something right now.

Usually I don't get upset about these things, but... Yeah, this isn't one of those times.

Give up already! They won't improve, and you'll always be Cinderella in their eyes. Redirect your energy more productively. You're wasting your time.

Oh, no...I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm so afraid this is going to be me in a couple of months...the part about being grateful but not wanting to go in tomorrow and dreading Mondays again (well, really, M-F). That's where I was in previous years, before my last job, and it nearly drove me insane--literally. It's difficult to balance gratefulness with dread. I've been so conflicted since applying to that position. This is why for ME, SAH >>>>>>>> WOTH...but the pay stinks. I just can't afford to pass up a 6-figure salary, even if it means risking insanity. Especially since it's the first thing to come along in nearly 2 years and may be the last.

Congratulations, LA! That's amazing!

I just made one of if not the most exhausting thing I've ever made at home --- nougat. It's like marshmallows with at least double the annoyance. Due to lack of mixer of course. Honey to 120 C while sugar syrup is going to 155 C while whipping the egg whites with my whisk. Whip, whip, whip, stiff peaks, add sugar, whip some more. Get the crazy hot honey, anchor bowl while pouring with right hand, whisk with left. Whip some more. Syrup to 155C (which I thankfully got to as it was just about to start going over the 155), switch hands because my right was tired of pouring, whip away. Fold in previously melted chocolate (it's chocolate nougat). Fold in previously toasted and peeled nuts that have been keeping warm in low oven and some fleur de sel. Pour and scrape into prepared quarter sheet tray. Enjoy the mountain of dishes employed that are now covered in super sticky nougat and sugar syrup!
At least it tastes pretty great, though I have to wait until tomorrow for it to set. I'm just glad I managed to juggle everything and get it done properly.

The always amazing Saria does it again.

On a minor note, I shouldn't have purchased that "Chunky" bar. I wish I hadn't eaten it all, but I did. Add that to yesterday's paczki, and I'm feeling slightly terrible.

Ugh.

I am reeling from the ending of my book.

It was touching, upsetting, moving and just brilliant.

Now I can't focus on anything else.

~Ghost Poster~, there have in fact been some accusations thrown about that very subject.
Sigh, gotta go do those dishes now.
