Deadly natural disasters have gone up to four times the rate in this past decade than in decades past. It came close to the record high. I don't think anyone would argue that more extreme weather and natural disasters are not occurring, since higher global temps cause more extreme weather. I really don't see how anyone can dispute that, or why they would want to. You are the ones acting alarmist if you think that someone simply talking about environmental trends is somehow a threat. I conserve, I recycle, I watch the weather forecast, and that's it. I don't live in a shell, but I, unlike some people, choose to be aware of what is going on in the world.

My mom mentioned predictions of a massive earthquake in California in the next 20 years or so, predictions that have been going on for some time (I did not google this myself or go looking for it, I do not stand by it as fact, so you can hold your IhateAlGore.com articles.). Do you think, with the information we have about the increase in natural disasters, that it would make sense to at least think about how something like this would affect the country, where we would be - the aftermath, or would it make more sense to wish it away and believe it will never happen? Of course, we pretty much go on as normal - I do despite whatever crap you may think of me.

I do not think we're at the brink of disaster, but anyone who is...I don't know, breathing... can put 2 and 2 together and predict that we're in for some rough times environmentally and economically. I know I'm adapting my ways and my thinking in a very reasonable manner, and I would think at least some other people would do the same. Plenty of people here have mentioned things similar to me about conserving and such. I have seen, recently, more gloom and doom comments than mine, such as frau I think saying that we're going to have to have billboards of green grass since everything will be toast. Where is the heat on her, or do you only choose to gang up on certain people with your stupid comments and cutesy videos?

I thought this was a slightly more mature, intelligent crowd than it is. Oh well. I see it for what it is so go along with your kiddie games. At least I see someone who disagrees with me bothered to post an article rather than busting out the clownishness and insults. Thanks, Sarah - I will have a look.

~~This goes to all of the resident idealist-alarmists, not to one particular person (since some people believe it's all about them all the time).~~ Thanks, much.

Yup. That's why I don't have one. The are an exercise in frustration for me and I don't want to pay for being annoyed.

I am slightly pained that no one noticed the hat on my werewolf today.

Was everyone drunk, or something?

Hey guys:

This article lists a couple charities that are working on saving the animals and wildlife here. It's also really useful for pet owners who are packing an emergency kit.

Wow. Project much?

Saria, you can now add me to your post.

(I guess having a personal life is foreign to "some people").

Sigh. I guess we will continue not talking until my next period, when you will want me to lay down for 21 minutes with you.

Japanese TV explains the disaster to children. Lots of references to nuclear boy and his poo. Oh Japan.

1.) Seriously, why did you have children if you don't give an isht about them. Your kid failed every subject, you knew I sent home a request for a conference (which your kid "couldn't find") and you can't return my calls or initiate contact with me????

2.) Seriously, I rescheduled our conference to be on my own time because you can't make the time to come in when the school schedules them, and then you blow me off???? Your kid is having increasingly more serious behavior problems and you don't think someone who is concerned about him is worth your time ?????????

I spent years knowing I could never be a biological parent, worrying that I would never find a spouse, let alone one who shared my willingness to adopt, went through painful testing only to be told that the 80% chance of carrying a baby through egg donor they had given me was really 0%, and then tens of thousands of dollars and countless hours filling out paperwork and being interviewed and giving 4 sets of fingerprints to prove I was worthy of caring for a child and you people can have a child who you couldn't care less about?????????????????

Minxy, I really wish I had an Emerson Cod gif from when Olive tells him she was in a nunnery. It's too perfect.

Oh! Me too! That would be wonderful! Oh that show is wonderful. Why do all the good shows go early?

Or maybe a gif with them in their matching raincoats?

Olives and fish! I love them.

I actually follow Kristen chenowith on twitter because of that show. (unfortunately I don't really get her posts. )

Yeah, I've read she's not as likable as the characters she tends to play.
