Missing Malaysian Plane

Is anyone else following this? Just unimaginable, I can't imagine what those families are going through

This news about the plane going the opposite way and way off course is making things even stranger!

Sad. strange. Pray for them and their loved ones. 🙏
I have read a little on this every day since it happened. My mom called me the day it broke and ask if I had heard about the plane that disappeared. That never gives you a good feeling but the story has gotten much stranger since. I feel for the families, too. I can not imagine not knowing anything. Location services turned off, no one trying to contact loved ones for days... Not good.

This whole Malaysian military thing is getting really strange! Yesturday they are reporting that the plane was way off course, going in the opposite direction of where it should have been.

Today they are saying they don't even know if that is the plane that they were tracking.

"At the news briefing Wednesday, however, Gen. Rodzali Daud, head of the Malaysian Air Force, and other officials said it wasn't yet clear whether the object that showed up on military radar flying over the sea northwest of the Malaysian coast early Saturday was the missing plane."

Supposedly where it may have went down now is a pretty busy water way. It seems almost unimaginable that no one has seen anything at all. There are so many things in a plane that would float, the water should be littered with stuff. Especially if it dropped from cruising altitude, it would have all come apart on impact.

Maybe they thought they were landing somewhere (if there were electrical issues, instruments not working, why they were so off course) and it was really low when it went into the water and didn't come apart. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I think a lot is not being disclosed.

Thank you for posting, CC. It is incredibly strange. One of my first thoughts, a couple days in, was explosion or hijacking. As time goes on, those situations do seem less plausible given that no one has came forward. Unless, like stated, there is a larger plan. In almost every past hijacking situation demands have been made when the plane hit the ground. That or... We know what happened on 9/11.
The information about 2 people with stolen passports being on board is not comforting. Neither is the transponder being turned off before the plane vanished... Maybe? I don't know.

It is so odd that no SOS was sent. Nothing. It very well could have fallen to the ocean floor but crews are highly trained in these situations and with this aircraft having the ability to remain above water for so long, I don't know. No one knows.

I did see some people ranting about the US knowing exactly what happened due to satellites but were unwilling to come forward. Some satellites only focus on specific paths, some focus on greater. Is there a possibility the sat's could have picked up an explosion? Yes. Is there a possibility they did not? Yes. I know numerous strange conspiracy theories will spring from this. The basic facts are odd enough but I al waiting for Alien abduction theories, etc.

Things just keep getting stranger. Rolls Royce (who made the engines) are now saying the plane may have been flying for an additional 4 hours?

Thought this was a pretty good explanation of looking for it though.

A 2002 model Boeing 777-2H6 ER aircraft with fuselage length 209 ft and
wingspan 200 ft, cruising at 905 km/h, falls headlong from 10.6 km
vertically up in the sky, into a sea half as expansive as all of India, with an average depth of 1.2 km. Where are you going to look for the pieces of airplane?
Worse than finding a needle in a haystack!

34 aircraft and 40 ships are searching for it in an area of sea as vast as
all of India. What are the odds of finding wreckage or human remains?

Let's build a scale model.
Imagine a football field(rugby). It is roughly 73,000 sq. ft. in area. 328 ft x 223 ft.
Imagine it is covered with sea water 2 inches deep.

This becomes a 1:21,963rd scale model of the South China Sea.

A tiny model airplane, no bigger than a tiny ant, with length 3mm and
wingspan 2.78mm flies 1 feet above this football field @ 1.14 cm/sec
and falls into the 2" deep water and disintegrates into pieces the size
of grains of table-salt.

You need to find the fragments of this ant, in 2" deep water spread
across the football field. What are your odds of finding the pieces?

^ Well now! I heard this loud and clear

"Air Vice Marshal Michael Harwood, a former RAF pilot, said: ‘Too many movies and Predator [drone] feeds from Afghanistan have suckered people into thinking we know everything and see everything.

‘You get what you pay for. And the world, by and large, does not pay.'"

That is actually something I completely agree with, and say quite often. Especially where movies/tv are concerned. I am often asked to do this & that. I can not, and am called a liar when I explain that I can not connect to someones cell phone and trace them out of the blue. I can't even guarantee you a location when someone calls us. It depends on the phone and other factors from service providers. Someone has watched too many cop drama's. *While the government (no doubt) is capable of much more, I know they go through the same things on a larger scale. Lots of fiction, paranoia and speculation involved when it comes to the need to blame and find answers.

It is interesting that they kept receiving faint pings from what they believe is/was the air craft. Believe being the key word.

CC, it is odd that they keep coming up with these images and then saying that was not anything or it was any number of things, which is possible. It seems like most of what is being released was not sanctioned for release by anyone. I think too many people have their hands in the cookie jar, so to speak. Some trying to be helpful but just causing more speculation and confusion.

I didn't get to pay complete attention to reports, but I did see absolute confirmation on CNN, and my local news this morning, that 2 different communications and tracking devices were turned off 26 minutes into the flight. Making it impossible for people to call out and limiting other contact that quickly is as deliberate as one can get.

It is sad to see the families saying they do not know who they can trust. I can not even imagine how frustrated they are between the numerous different reports. This is a messy situation, and one that requires investigation and the following of any and every lead. I hope they can find something.

The first day the story broke it didn't seem that big of a deal. Then the media just wouldn't let go of it. It almost seemed like it was planned or being made into more of a story than it was. IDK... Maybe it's just the time difference between here and Asia. So the facts were known there long before here in the US. Then again this is the Internet. News breaks simultaneously everywhere now c

So this is the text that the passengers families received yesterday. Just an awful way to handle it. It wouldn't have taken that long to call all the families

Now the families are freaking out because nothing has been found and they think they are being lied to. I can't imagine how they feel, but what can be done? Do they really think the plane is out there and their families alive? I guess you cling to anything, but some of the interviews are sounding like they think the Malaysian government is hiding the plane somewhere.

It is awful. Way to handle it via text. Sorry, we're pretty sure your family is dead. TTFN!

The families will be clinging to any and every hope or possibility. Any news story, blog, or whatever else they come across online that speculates or tells a different story/possibilities will help them continue to believe it is a lie. Believing that is much better than the alternative.

I wish they would find something. There will never be closure until there is proof.

Letting the families know what was happening by text is just beyond tactless, I can't imagine who thought that was the right way to go about things. That said, I found the (hysterical) reactions of the relatives a bit odd - in the days following the disappearance I could understand it, but nearly three weeks down the track they must surely have realised that there could be no other outcome. Grief, anger and frustration is completely understandable, but the hysteria we saw on the tv here was strange to me. Can't begin to imagine how it feels to have lost someone in that way though.
3b in South Australia.
I'm following my gut instinct, which is saying something fishy was going on, or still is.
With today's technology, how can a plane actually disappear? We've got radar, satellites, and then who knows what exactly the black box is. And why was the transponder/transmitter shut off? Where were the last pings going to? They say it pinged every half hour. If in the next half hour after the "good night", the 'ping' was off course, something should have been noticed or done something about. How come they don't even know what direction it went, assuming it stayed in the air for four hours? They should take its last known location and make a search area 4 flight hours wide around it. Why aren't they using satellite images ( recent ones, of course) to help look?
Personally, I think that the government(s) are covering up stuff. Malaysian government is in question. They must know something they don't want to tell people, most likely because they're scared of it themselves. It's been over two weeks, and it's assumed everyone on the plane is dead. Yes, why the hysteria? You can hold out hope until it is no longer reasonable to do so.
I believe something quick must have happened to the crew/passengers on that flight. Where were the frantic calls or text messages from the passengers, the SOS or call for help from the pilot? Perhaps they were attacked by another government ( just a theory). That's happened before. Someone also came up with the theory of an electrical fire, but still you would have had time to call your loved ones in a fire, or something. This is a horrible situation that is being completely mishandled, in my opinion.
