Secret to a better burger

Like Tree27Likes

What are the "secret" ingredients you add to your burgers (anything besides ground beef, salt and pepper) to make them extra delicious?

Or if it's an ingredient you top or wrap your cooked burger with, name that, also.

I am a bit of a bore on this one. I usually just do S&P but I will add cheese in the center from time to time. I have added some chopped veggies, mainly peppers, to make pepper stuffed burgers. Um... I've had burgers mixed/made with the various seasoning packets. Like the Hidden Valley Ranch burgers. Most of the time I decide that I like a good, plain, burger with a jazzed up mayo and veggies or cheese stacked on top.

When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I am a big fan of bleu cheese crumbles on my burgers.

I would also recommend a cajun type spice with the salt and pepper for a little extra flavor surprise!

I've actually found mango chutney is great to put in with the mince. It helps bind it all together and gives a great, subtle sweetness. It's one of my favourite things to add

It's all in the meat you use. Makes a big difference. Go to the butcher and have him ground up the meat for you...forget the already ground meat.
From Michael Berg:

Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."
^^ what CC said. I just read somewhere (pinterest) that a pat of butter helps

I've never been one to make my own burguers, but my favourite type of burger is when the meat is paired with a nice juicy slice of pineapple.

I don't really make burgers, but I make meatloaf which I think would be the same. If I made burgers I might even bake them like I do meatloaf. My meatloaf is a kitchen sink recipe. For about 2.5 lbs of ground beef, I add:
1/2 - 3/4 cup ketchup
8 oz shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese (preferably Cracker Barrel)
1 diced green pepper
1 small diced onion
1/2 - 1 cup seasoned Italian bread crumbs
1 egg
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp each dried basil, oregano, parsley
Kosher salt
Pepper

The key to these burgers are not only good quality meat and great bread but a pat of butter that melts into the burger to create the juiciest, flavor-filled burger you’ll ever devour.

I made some this wknd. 80/20 ground beef, S&P, A1 sauce mixed in and a pat of butter inside. Then grilled on my new gas grill and topped w/ cheddar cheese, and honey bbq sauce, served on a toasted white bun. Really good!!! Thanks, everyone!

My husband went to culinary school, and I don't know what he does....but his burgers are soooooooo yummy! I think he puts chopped onions in his as well as binds it together with an egg. I'm not sure of all the spices he uses, but I know it's a variety. I will have to tell him about the butter trick, if he doesn't already know! Now I want a burger!
