[quote="GurlwithCurls"] I could not believe this either. Randy tells her she potentially has the best voice in the whole competition and then cuts her. WTF? And then they put in those two short haired blond girls (I think their names are Elizabeth and Katie) who to me are completely interchangeable (not to mention boring) looks-wise and sound-wise.
[quote]
Simon and Randy have proved time and again that they basically discriminate against girls who they think don't have "the look". Randy is the worse offender. It's amazing that he'd have a thing against overweight women. He's not exactly Denzel.

Is this how it works?
Only one wild card is going through to the Top 12 right?

4 - 3 picked by the judges, 1 by viewers.

Phew!
Man, is that a relief! I told my boyfriend that only one got to go through.
I love George and hope he gets one of the slots. He is just TOO cute. Maybe not idol material but hey, Clay wasn't exactly "idol" material either.

She sounded better than Elizabeth, Katie & Leah.
My favs:
George
Suzy
Jennifer (BTW, Jennifer is sporting a "curly weave".)
(Why do I have a "feelin" Pin Boy" may make it as the "voters" choice?) ((sigh)) Another William Hung.
Judges picks if the above are not picked by the voters.
Randy - Suzy
Paula - George (yes, George, he's "likeable" - everyone likes an underdog)
Simon - Jennifer

It was a clip show, but there was a lot of stuff I hadn't seen before (I think I missed parts of two episodes, so I did have some catching up to do). There was a really touching bit with Yoanna crying about her grandmother. And they showed a pic of her before she lost weight, back when she was skinny and not just super skinny.

Yeah but I think that they are pretty desperate to add some more males into the mix, and since Jennifer Hudson and Suzy were really the best females of the night, she'll probably go with Matt (or George; I'm betting 2 boys and 2 girls will advance)

C'mon Pen Guy.
He was fun!
Also, it seems mean for even AI to actually tell four people LIVE that they won't get to compete. I can't remember who they were, but I thought at least two of them were pretty strong. I'm wondering if we're going to find out that they've been pushed through and maybe only one will get through from the actual compitition. Or something. I just can't believe that some of those people (c'mon, I love Pen Boy but really...and those two blond girls, gimme a break) made it in over the redhead and Tiara (sp?). I'm expecting a twist of some sort.

That's Tom Jones? All this time I thought it was Elvis.

I'm just going by the conversation that Jon Peter and Ryan Seacrest had right before he went on stage. They said it was Elvis during that. Otherwise, I have no idea if it's not really!

I think it was in Oceans 11 - and several movies since then. I thought it was good kitchy fun and LOVE that JPL chose it. It's a great shower song too.
I want to say that on one of the newer Elvis compliation CDs (my aunt is an Elvis fan so I get her these things for Christmas and I want to say that in the last year, two have come out that were supposed to be a Big Deal) this song was billed as a new release or something like that.
ETA: Just looked it up on Amazon, A Little Less Conversation was remixed as a bonus track on Elv1s, 30 #1 Hits. I LOVED this song when I heard it in Oceans 11 (and more recently in a few movies - somethings I've seen recently - anyone else remember?)!

No, you were right... it was an Elvis song. I just had never heard it before. Figured it must have been a "B" side song.

Okay, thanks. I thought I was confused. Was it the Elvis song that was released a year or two ago after being remixed?

Of course and I am not from that generation.
I really liked Katie but not as a singer.

yeah, the elvis song was a postumously released track. Love it and have it on CD. Although I like John Peter, he didn't do the song justice.

Yes. The Remix... I believe it was in a movie too. I forget which one.
It was a minor hit in 1968 but definitely an Elvis song.

Do you people not even read my posts?
Oceans 11. That was the movie.
I solved this whole mystery, Scoobie style, and no one even reads!
Harumph! This is me leaving in a huff!
