I'm trying to figure out what type of shoes to wear for work. Looking for either a wedge or thick heel(a few inches or higher) to wear with skinny jeans and button down shirts(more on the casual side). Can't wear opened toed yet so thats the issue. Pumps are usually so uncomfortable for me(even if they are low). Ankle boots sometime look weird with pants that just hit the ankle but maybe I haven't found the right one. I think I want something black and maybe camel/bone color? I'm trying to change my style..
I think you should just deal for the next couple of weeks (if that long) w/ whatever you've been wearing and focus on shopping for spring/summer shoes. Who wants to think about ankle boots and closed-toe roach stompers now?? Then just get a few pairs of low heel sandals. Mules and slides are on trend. Flatforms? I wouldn't be thinking about a dressy shoe for skinny jeans and button-down shirts. Will you wear skirts? I can't imagine wearing jeans once it goes above 70. What do you wear when it's warm?

Not that I could ever afford these but I like this look:

They're called clog mules from rag & bone.

I got these last week. (I have to walk, too.)

I just ordered these this morning.

Thinking about these.

and these

FYI - It ~is~ spring. The weather will be warm very soon! It's hot here and NYC usually gets our weather in about 3 days.

I have all the requisite pumps and heels and office-y stuff for important work meetings, etc. But I just can't do it anymore on a day-to-day basis, esp since I have to park 4 blocks from the office now.

I wear sneakers to work and then change. But even walking around during lunch and after work for happy hours, I want something comfortable but not too low. My feet get swollen even if I walk to work with my comfortable low heels. They've definitely up half a size from all the walking and my weight gain from the last couple years.

How about these? Block heels are starting to be on trend, and they would probably be very good for walking.
