I made the first move with my fiance. I actually walked right up to him at a party and gave him a huge make-out kiss, and then walked away.

We've been together since. Makes for a great story!

I think that I definitely would if it were a guy friend who didn't think I was interested, particularly if at some point I had made it clear I wasn't interested. I would expect him to just get confused if I tried hinting rather than being straightforward about it.
