Saila, what is an HR block? What will you do if you give up? I'm so sorry - I totally relate to feeling very discouraged.

The human resources department reviews applications before sending them to the hiring department. They make sure you meet the minimum requirements, then forward the application. This is the second time they have done this - both times have been in error. I double checked the requirements and I meet them.
It took weeks to fix the last one, and by the time it was done it was too late.
If I give up, I will just stop worrying about it as much. I will still continue to apply and look. Tuition and fees went up by 5%, my grants got cancelled... Hopefully I will receive one of tuition waivers and/or scholarships.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow. My fiancée has an interview at 3pm! It's taking all my patience to deal with him and his anxiousness

I got a call for an interview tuesday. It's for a legal assistant position. Has anyone had a position like this? What kind of interview questions should I expect? I'm not ready for another rejection.
This phone makes accurate punctuation unnecessarily difficult.

For a legal assistant position, I would expect them to stress organization, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, ability to manage schedules and the like, so questions about that or "what would you do if...?" scenarios to see how you prioritize. Research a little bit as to what kind of firm they are and what kind of law they do. Ask how many lawyers you would be responsible for.
Good luck... and also to everyone on this thread - my heart goes out to you!

Interview went OK I think. Lasted an hour - the woman was very friendly - I had to do a role play first which I've never done before and I think I did alright - probably not amazing.
The interview part went fine although I think I messed up some of the questions - I wasn't as articulate as I could have been, or as confident and a couple my mind went blank and I couldn't think what to say
But I was friendly and polite and even though wouldnt be an amazing job it would be something for 4 months (seasonal position).
I should find out fairly soon. It didn't go badly, but Im not sure I was good enough to get the job. Its the first formal interview I've had (my previous two have been very relaxed and more like a chat).

I sent my resume out to everybody I know in the city in case anybody hears of anything. I even wrote in the email that I get tons of interviews, but I just wanted to make sure everybody knows I'm looking.
So many people are taking that to mean I want my resume and cover letter critiqued and all these people are giving me advice.
THE RESUME AND COVER LETTER ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.
THE RESUME AND COVER LETTER GET A GAZILLION PHONE CALLS AND INTERVIEWS.
Rant over.

I hate people putting their 2 cents in about resumes. I can only imagine how stupidly frustrating this must be for you CIBC!
Fiancée had an interview last week for work in a care home. This is the first interview he had since he became unemployed. This is also the first interview he had that wasn't factory work. I hope he gets it....would do him a world of good.
I have an interview for Tuesday coming up. I don't have a lot of experience in the job am going for. I just don't want to mess it up!

still nothing positiv to report. not even a small job interview in sight. I had 2 phonecalls from agencies though, but I don't believe in such help. they are only interested in filling their databases with possible candidates' names. What's freaking wrong in this world? Everybody is talking constantly that german economy is living through the biggest raise since the 60th and the employees are urgently needed but nobody seems to be interested in contacting me. Ok, my first job search was extremely difficult due to foreign bachelor degree, lack of work experience and little child. But now I have over two years broad based experience and lots of duties, my child goes to daycare and his routine is well-established. My resume and cover letter look both more professional in comparison with its former version. And nada. Pretty frustrating.

I got the job! Im surprised lol but pleased. Its something anyway 30 hours a week and I expect Ill be in 5 days so fairs to london gonna cost a bomb! And its for 3 months as seasonal BUT its a job.
It gets people of my back, gives me a bit of money, 3 months to think about what to do next and I can get off jobseekers - which I hated doing!
