I thought that might be it, too, BUT they also don't let on for which particular theatre company/person this job is for...so how could you write one that way if you don't know who you are writing for??? Strange...I'm guessing this person wants to use social media for marketing purposes and wants to see how you'd represent the company. I doubt they want your personal facebook status updates. What?! That is really weird. So if you're not an active Facebook user or they don't like your last 5 updates you don't get an interview. REALLY weird. There's a job to be an assistant to theatrical producer (which was my last job) and this was in the ad:
Please respond with resume, cover letter, and 5 facebook status updates.
Ain't that weird?
I submitted with five theatre-related statuses I had...we'll see if I get a call. My former boss is such a huge name in the industry I'll be surprised if I don't.
