Which of us are job hunting?

There's a job to be an assistant to theatrical producer (which was my last job) and this was in the ad:

Please respond with resume, cover letter, and 5 facebook status updates.

Ain't that weird?

I submitted with five theatre-related statuses I had...we'll see if I get a call. My former boss is such a huge name in the industry I'll be surprised if I don't.

It's something I know I'd be good at, I hope I get a call back". hahaha. Or something like "I spent the morning playing theatre games with sick children, and now I'm off to my gig as a volunteer stage manager! I love my life, and the theatre!". haha. I'm such a dork.

I've had these feelings for a long time but I don't talk about it much. I hate feeling like this. Doesn't help that we are living the fiancees parents and his mom is always in my face.

I am as creative as a piece of cardboard. Lol

I really want to start exercising and loose some weight. It's just hard to start. I'm going have to though.

I want to talk to someone but all my friends and family are back in Canada. And I don't want to unload on my fiancÚ because he's unemployed as well. I think exercise is the best option.

It'll have to get better. Thanks for everything.....especially for listening.

Trixie, I know it's hard -- trust me, I've been there on the job front and the exercise front -- but try this ...

Just commit to lacing up your shoes and going out the door. Nothing more. Once you're outside, you can come right back in if you really want to.

Baby steps. At some point you'll walk or you'll run and you'll feel better for it. But each time you begin, just commit to getting out that door first. Let us know how it goes.
Tomorrow, I have two interviews for two jobs in the theatre world and both sound great. I'm not going to get excited. I'm not going to get nervous. I'm just going to start performing spells on these offices because that's apparently what an overqualified girl has to do around here to get a job.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I think I would love either one of these jobs. I just want one of them. I just want a job. I want to be back in this city. I want this to be behind me!
Trixie, try to take it easy on yourself. Whatever you can do to soothe yourself - do it.

CIBC - you have 2 interviews!!! Wow. We are on pins and needles for you.

Anna - any word from the telephone tag lady?

Everyone else - good luck!!! I'm not getting any responses to my resume either. There's this big gap from my surgery and they can also tell from my resume that I'm older, but if they would only meet me - I have lots of energy, and I really know my way around an office and I'm not a diva - easy to get along with ....(sigh).

Hoping for the best for you CIBC!

Good luck cibc!!!

I havent heard anything about my applications / resumes!!! Guess it's time to expand my search and consider moving but it appears that doing that may not even help. Praying economy picks up soon!

Thank you, everybody! My interviews are at 1 and 3 tomorrow. I'm catching-up with two friends, too...trying to stay somewhat social. (Been doing an awful job of that!)

Today my mother said that she KNOWS that I lost my job for a reason because I was home to help her through such a difficult time

(Can we remember not long ago she was telling me how I was useless but that my sister was this incredible support system?)

(Also, she often tells me that I am not allowed to talk about my problems around her because they are nothing compared to hers. Isn't she making my problems all about her somehow?)
