Who Me?

I plan to buy a new laptop before I go to grad school in the fall. I want something nice and light to bring around with me fairly often. I've been doing some research, and have a few in mind (but would be open to suggestions). The most important thing, however, is price.

When do you all think the best time to buy a computer is? I would assume that right now is the "off season" and the fall would be prime-buying time for computers, because of the school year. But I could be way off on this. Even if I am right, however, are prices/deals better now because sales aren't great, or will the be better in the late summer/early fall? Any ideas?

Prices and deals now can be much lower NOW than in the fall HOWEVER they will run quickly and you must act quickly on them almost immediately.

This is due to school years and gov't spending year (which ends Sep 30). They have longer running deals come the fall expecting large amount of spending but they also don't shoot themselves in the foot by going too low when the majority of their yearly sales are going to occur.

Right now, Dell is running another special on laptops right now.....10-20% off the laptop price, 10% off software, free shipping, and no interest until September......all if you buy online. Not that I'm looking at laptops or anything.....

Yeah, that's exactly what I was looking at. It looks like a pretty good deal. It ends next Thursday, though.
