Threading

I was reading a post on here the other day and I think threading came up. I was curious and did a little research on the topic. I want to try threading for my eyebrows, but I can't seem to find a place to get it done here in the Nashville area. Does anyone know of a good place to go to get eyebrows threaded in Middle Tennessee? Also, does anyone have any stories (positive or negative) about a threading experience? Thanks!
Is there any area in your city that may be predominantly Indian/West Indian? Here in NYC most salons run by Indians or West Indians offer eyebrow threading.

BTW, I've been dying to this too. Don't know why I haven't gone for it.
3a/3b thick coarse WL dark brown hair. CG/Mod CG since: 5/4/05. Current products: Right now my hair is in such a tizzy over this winter weather we are hving that nothing really seems to be working. I need a haircut.
Anyone know a place in Greater Boston? I would love to try this. Trying to imagine how they can thread your eyebrows. If I did it I wouldn't have any

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
Sadly, I don't know what areas here are Indian. I've only lived here all my life. I found a salon that does threading, but they charge $35 and I was hoping not to pay that much.
35?!? that's too much, at least to me it is. I pay 15. for both my eyebrows and my mustache (which hurts like hell BTW)
Does it hurt when you get your eyebrows done too, or just the mustache? I know $35 is way too much. This is a salon that also offers things like caviar facials and stuff I don't need.
Holy crap thats a lot. They raised our prices here and I pay 10 for both upper lip and eyebrows - some places are 8 but they are out of my way. As far as the pain it depends on the threader - some people are better at it or have a different technique so it hurts much less. Ask them if they have numbing cream...they usually do but will only put it on if you request..my friend does this.

one day at a time..
If you are in NYC there is Threading Eyebrow Express in Castle Hill. My friend goes there and likes it and when I move to NYC next year I will probably go there, too. It is $5 for a threading.

Where I currently live it is about $15.
Anybody know somewhere to go in St. Louis? Also, the hair on my face is blond (but still noticeable in certain light) -- will they be able to remove it?

The place I go charges $6 for eyebrows, $10 for eyebrows and lip. They do full face as well, but I wouldn't do that any sooner than I'd have my bikini line threaded. What annoys me is that the sari shop has several women who thread, but only one is really good. Another one is average, and another one tends to completely butcher me. I suspect my eyebrows will NEVER grow back after my last visit...it's been over a month and still no growth. Sigh.

Take some Advil beforehand, that helps with the pain. I think threading does hurt, but only while it's happening. Waxing leaves me irritated for days.

I finally found someone in my area who does this. She did a great job. It does hurt, but it's not like waxing pain, for sure.

The woman who did my eyebrows was showing another young girl how to do it, like an internship, I guess? Anyway, I was really pleased. Excellent for only 12 dollars.

Suburban: If I could find one in Baton Rouge, I'm sure you could find a place in Boston! The results are amazing.

I like getting my brows threaded. It's a neat process and doesn't hurt much IMO. Some say it pinches more than tweezing though. My threader took a bit too much off though and she used some powder to absorb skin oils beforehand, but she appeared to use the same cotton pad dipped in the same container as she did with everyone else. Hygiene issues there. But my brows looked good! I'd go again and make sure to ask her to use fresh stuff.
I absolutely love getting my eyebrows threaded!
I will never ever ever get my eyebrows waxed again, my skin used to get red and bumpy after waxing but when I thread them the red and bumps are minimal
Threading also gives me better shaping and leaves my eyebrows looking full (I have thing haired eyebrows), also the pain isn't that bad as it is with waxing...Like I said I just love it
Turtles: omg please don't put that in your moo moo

Nej: too late... moo moo has been infiltrated.
i agree, sarcasmisbeauty. i have full brows, but thinning brows, and i was afraid she'd take off too much. they came out looking really great and still full.

Ok....I moved so I no longer live near my beloved threader.

Does anyone know a threader anywhere in Vermont, New Hampshire, or upstate New York? Does anyone know of a good threader in Montreal? I really need to get my brows shaped.

I got my brows threaded...i loved it..since my hours have been drastically cut....i mean drastically...i haven't been able to get them done again.....that will have to wait until i get my income tax return...i love it better than tweezing.
